5 Beauty Hacks and Tips to Fake That Summer Holiday Glow

Summer Beauty Hacks
Summer is all about the glow factor for me, bronzed skin, glowy cheeks and golden eyes are my uniform look for this time of year. So if you haven't seen much sun this Summer or you're yet to take that Summer getaway, then have no fear I've teamed up with Seventeen and ten other bloggers to share my top five beauty hacks and tips to fake that Summer holiday glow, no vacation required!
1. IT'S ALL ABOUT THAT BASE...
Firstly let's start with the all-important base. A BB Cream is a great way to get that flawless coverage with minimal effort. I first discovered the Seventeen BB Balm a few years back and it's one of my favourite multi-taskers as not only does it cover a multitude of sins, it also contains an SPF25 which is rare for a foundation and you guys know how much I consider an SPF a vital part of my routine! Apply this with a damp sponge for the ultimate dewy base.
If you're all about that 'extra' glow factor then why not mix a little highlighter into your foundation, this is a trick I've used for years and it looks especially good on a night out! I use the Skin WOW 3 Way Highlighter as it works wonders with any foundation to give you the ultimate 'extra' base.
2. BRONZED GODDESS
The quickest way to add some colour to the face is with a bronzer. Bronzer can hide a multitude of sins and during the week I actually opt for a little concealer and bronzer as it adds a more sunkissed, natural glow to the skin. The Define & Conquer Palette is great one for warming up the contours of your face where the sun would normally touch your skin, but if you want something a little dewier, then the Instant Glow Cream Bronzer is one of my Summer favourites for that effortless holiday glow, it's also a wonderful dupe for the Chanel Bronze Universal.
3. HIGHLIGHT THE GOOD POINTS
The quickest way to appear well rested is by using a highlighting or light/yellow based concealer. These type of concealers are best applied with a damp sponge under the eye, to prevent pulling around this delicate area. The Skin WOW Concealer is great for not only brightening under the eyes, but it's also perfect to pop in your bag for on the go touch ups if your skin needs that little pick me up throughout the day. The Stay Time Concealer is another great option for covering up any redness you may have from too much time spent in the sun!
4. THE GLOW GETTER
Highlighters are one of those holiday essentials I cannot live without as they can be used in so many ways. Dust this over the décollaté to complement a tan, wash it over the eyes for an easy effortless shimmery eye or of course swipe this across the cheeks for maximum impact. I've actually been using a small fluffy eyeshadow brush to apply my highlighter lately and let me tell you it's a game changer!

The Instant Glow Palette is one of those superb all-rounder palettes for holidays as you have four shades in one to create endless looks with. I used the two middle colours on my eyes and the top shade as my highlighter.
Another great travel option that I can't live without is the Cheek Stamp Blushers as their compact and don't require a brush to apply either! All you do is use the spring-loaded sponge to apply the colour to the cheeks and viola you have that instant pop of radiance and colour!
5. THE EYES HAVE IT ALL
You'll be amazed what a few coats of mascara can do to open up the eyes and make you appear more awake than you probably are! Use an eyelash curler first for maximum impact and then go in with a lash lengthening mascara like the Long Lash Mascara or Falsifeye HD Mascara which give you the ultimate length, thickness and longevity.
So there you have it my five foolproof tips I use to get that instant holiday glow! I've teamed up with 10 other blogger friends to bring you this series of Seventeen beauty hacks, so be sure to check out the gorgeous Poppy Mayy next for some more beauty hacks, tips and inspiration...

10 Drugstore Highlighters Under £10

Drugstore Highlighters UK
I think it's safe to say highlighters are HUGE and you know I love finding affordable drugstore makeup for you guys, so today I wanted to share with you ten of my very favourite drugstore highlighters. And the best bit.. they're all £10 and under!
These first couple of highlighters are the more subtle of the bunch and are perfect if you love a glow but you're not into a full on light beam on your face! The Makeup Revolution Radiance Palette is a wonderful dupe for the Hourglass Ambient Light Palette*. This contains three beautifully subtle highlighters that can be used a couple of ways to give you that wonderful ethereal glow. Firstly, of course, you can use these on the cheeks, I actually prefer putting these underneath blush instead of on top or you can use either of the two pink shades to set your foundation and concealer. Either way whatever you decide this palette is an absolute steal for how much you get in here.
2. Essence Strobing Highlighter £3
The other more subtle option is this one from Essence. The strobing highlighter has a tad more shimmer to it and is best used on the cheeks, however, I adore this one for everyday use as it just gives you the right amount of day time glow.
3. Barry M Illuminating Highlighter Palette £6.49*
Moving on to one of my favourite finds from this year so far... The Barry M Highlighting trio is again similar to the Revolution Radiance Palette, but this palette just packs more of a punch if you want something that's the next step up. The white and pink look wonderful mixed together and the gold goes great with a tan.
4. Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighter Radiant Lights £3
This highlighter is the perfect mix of pink and white together and just like the Barry M Palette, this is a lovely one for every day if you want more of a stunning sheen to the cheeks, cupids bow or brow bone.
5. Makeup Revolution Golden Sugar 2 Rose Gold Ultra Brush Palette £6*
Now don't be fooled by the name of this palette, this is one of those under the radar palette's, that not enough people talk about! This actually has the most STUNNING mix of highlighters, blush toppers and blush/bronzer shades, and if you really want something that's going to show up and pop on the cheeks, then this is the palette for you.
6. Primark Pure Glow Highlighter Champagne £3
I reviewed this recently here on the blog and it's honestly one of those hidden gems. You get so much highlighter for your money and if you prefer more of a golden/yellow toned highlighter, then you for sure have to hunt this down! I love this with a tan over the cheeks and decollete.
7. Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette £9.99*
This last powder palette was one of the first drugstore highlighting palettes I ever came across a few years back. Although this is the most expensive of the bunch, this truly is a stunning must-have palette if you want something that really show's up on the cheeks. Read my full review on this here.
8. MUA Glow Beam Liquid Highlight Cushion £5
This is the only highlighter I've seen in a cushion form and if you're a fan of cream only products then this is a great choice for you. I use a damp mini Real Techniques Sponge to gently dab this over the cheeks prior to blusher. I adore how glowy this looks on the cheeks and it's such a great option for Summer.
9. Maybelline Master Strobing Liquid Medium/Nude £7.99*
The Master Strobing Liquid is another highlighting gem, the shade I use is the medium/nude option as it's a pretty pink/gold. This liquid highlighter can be used again with a damp sponge underneath blush. I actually adore this when I'm having a more subtle makeup day.
10. Seventeen WOW 3 Way Highlighter £5.99
If you're after a great dupe for the Benefit High Beam*, then this is it! The 3 Way Highlighter is a more silvery option which can be worn alone or mixed in with your foundation for a more dewy glow.
