Maybelline Gel Liner Review & Photos a Bobbi Brown Gel Liner Dupe/Comparison

I first discovered the Bobbi Brown gel liner about 5 years ago and couldn't believe how amazing the longevity was compared to a pencil liner and how great they blended into the eyes. Five years later the drugstore brands have finally caught onto the gel liner trends and there are some great affordable alternatives that won't break the bank.
What are your thoughts on the Maybelline gel liners?
Price - The Bobbi Brown liner is £17.50 for 3g of product and the Maybelline is a steal at £7.99 for 3g, so your saving £9.51 which is almost half price and it comes with a brush!
Packaging - Both are packaged in a glass pot, the Bobbi Brown has a plastic screw lid with the logo printed upon it and the Maybelline liner has a metal screw top lid that also comes with a gel liner brush which is great. I prefer the packaging of the Bobbi Brown liner but this is my personal view only as both are well packaged.

Application - Each liner is easy to apply with a brush and can help any novice to achieve a perfect line. The Maybelline liner is a little softer in texture and is a tad harder to work with but both are buildable to achieve a natural or more dramatic eye. One thing I would say is make sure you wait for each layer to dry before applying the next.

Longevity - I was amazed by Maybelline's staying power throughout the day, it only lifted slightly on the outer waterline at around 8.30pm which is good going. Bobbi Brown has always been top of my list for longevity, so for Maybelline to be just as good was a nice surprise.
Final Thoughts - I have fallen in love with the Maybelline Gel Eyeliner it does exactly the same job as the Bobbi Brown for half the price, it comes with a brush and has an ever growing array of colours to choose from, the only downside for me is it does wear slightly more than the Bobbi Brown version towards the end of the day but only slightly nothing drastic!

I award the Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Eyeliner 4.9 out of 5

NYX Bronzer Blusher Duo in Sunrise in Bali Review & Photos a NARS Orgasm Dupe/Comparison

I always wondered what all the fuss was about the iconic Nars Orgasm Blusher, I finally bit the bullet a couple of years ago and purchased this famous blusher, but I also wanted to find a good dupe for you guys that lasted just as long to review and compare, let me know your thoughts on these blushers.

PRICE - The Nars blush retails for £21.50 for 4.8g and the NYX Blush & Bronzer retails for £10 for 10g, but this is split into two so each pan holds 5g which is defiantly better value.

PACKAGING - The Nars blush comes in a black rubber mirrored compact, I'm not so keen on Nars packaging as everything seems to stick to the rubber and make it look dirty, but the mirror is handy and a nice size for your handbag.
The NYX bronzer & blush duo is packed in a white plastic compact with a beautiful black pattern on the front, inside it has a mirror the size of the compact which again is handy to have on the go for touch-ups.

APPLICATION -   On application the NYX blush is creamier in texture, both are really pigmented and a little defiantly goes a long way for both. There is much difference on the cheeks the colour is virtually identical.

LONGEVITY - Nars Orgasm wears better throughout the day and by 8.30pm the Nars blush is still on. The NYX wore lovely until the early evening where it started to fade more than the Nars one, so it would probably need a top up for the evening if you wanted to wear this all day & night.

FINAL THOUGHTS - I love both of these equally for different reasons, the Nars is a great weekend blush as it is a little pricey but lasts into the evening which is great for a night out and the colour is stunning on any skin. But if you are on a budget and desperately want this shade for your collection I would defiantly go for the NYX version as not only do you to get a bronzer added too which is great for contouring might I add, but also you get a great dupe for half the price, even if you do have to top up the colour on your cheeks for the evening.

I award the NYX Bronzer & Blusher Duo a 4.7 out of 5

Real Techniques Core and Duo-Fibre Collection Review and Photos

I bought my first Real Techniques Brush last year, I absolutely loved it and this left me pining for more!
I received the Core and Duo-Fibre Collection for Christmas much to my excitement and they have now become a staple in my make-up kit!

PRICE - The Core Collection costs £21.99 and the Duo Fibre set costs £23.99, both are really reasonable and great value for money for 3-4 brushes in each set considering one premium make-up brush can retail from £15 upwards.

PACKAGING - The packaging is simple on the front so you can see exactly what brushes your buying and on the back it describes which brushes you get and what they are used for, I also love how Sam has tutorials on YouTube on how to use each brush, very informative and useful for any make-up brush novice.
The Core Collection also comes with a case to store your brushes in and is travel friendly, which is great for any organized tidy freaks.

TEXTURE & APPLICATION - The labelled bushes and tutorials make using the brushes a breeze, it took me a while to get used to some of the brushes I had never used before, but now I love them all, they feel soft on the face and have a lovely long handle which is covered half in rubber which gives you great grip when applying make-up.

OVERALL THOUGHTS - It is great to see an expert make-up artist produce brushes that anyone can use, with amazing quality and budget friendly prices. Every brush has a specific use and is not just your bog standard eye shadow or face brush that doesn't apply make-up well. Sam really understands real women and what they need from a make-up brush which makes applying make-up easy and flawless.

I award the Real Techniques Brushes 5 out of 5
