10 Drugstore Highlighters Under £10

Drugstore Highlighters UK
I think it's safe to say highlighters are HUGE and you know I love finding affordable drugstore makeup for you guys, so today I wanted to share with you ten of my very favourite drugstore highlighters. And the best bit.. they're all £10 and under!
These first couple of highlighters are the more subtle of the bunch and are perfect if you love a glow but you're not into a full on light beam on your face! The Makeup Revolution Radiance Palette is a wonderful dupe for the Hourglass Ambient Light Palette*. This contains three beautifully subtle highlighters that can be used a couple of ways to give you that wonderful ethereal glow. Firstly, of course, you can use these on the cheeks, I actually prefer putting these underneath blush instead of on top or you can use either of the two pink shades to set your foundation and concealer. Either way whatever you decide this palette is an absolute steal for how much you get in here.
2. Essence Strobing Highlighter £3
The other more subtle option is this one from Essence. The strobing highlighter has a tad more shimmer to it and is best used on the cheeks, however, I adore this one for everyday use as it just gives you the right amount of day time glow.
3. Barry M Illuminating Highlighter Palette £6.49*
Moving on to one of my favourite finds from this year so far... The Barry M Highlighting trio is again similar to the Revolution Radiance Palette, but this palette just packs more of a punch if you want something that's the next step up. The white and pink look wonderful mixed together and the gold goes great with a tan.
4. Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighter Radiant Lights £3
This highlighter is the perfect mix of pink and white together and just like the Barry M Palette, this is a lovely one for every day if you want more of a stunning sheen to the cheeks, cupids bow or brow bone.
5. Makeup Revolution Golden Sugar 2 Rose Gold Ultra Brush Palette £6*
Now don't be fooled by the name of this palette, this is one of those under the radar palette's, that not enough people talk about! This actually has the most STUNNING mix of highlighters, blush toppers and blush/bronzer shades, and if you really want something that's going to show up and pop on the cheeks, then this is the palette for you.
6. Primark Pure Glow Highlighter Champagne £3
I reviewed this recently here on the blog and it's honestly one of those hidden gems. You get so much highlighter for your money and if you prefer more of a golden/yellow toned highlighter, then you for sure have to hunt this down! I love this with a tan over the cheeks and decollete.
7. Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette £9.99*
This last powder palette was one of the first drugstore highlighting palettes I ever came across a few years back. Although this is the most expensive of the bunch, this truly is a stunning must-have palette if you want something that really show's up on the cheeks. Read my full review on this here.
8. MUA Glow Beam Liquid Highlight Cushion £5
This is the only highlighter I've seen in a cushion form and if you're a fan of cream only products then this is a great choice for you. I use a damp mini Real Techniques Sponge to gently dab this over the cheeks prior to blusher. I adore how glowy this looks on the cheeks and it's such a great option for Summer.
9. Maybelline Master Strobing Liquid Medium/Nude £7.99*
The Master Strobing Liquid is another highlighting gem, the shade I use is the medium/nude option as it's a pretty pink/gold. This liquid highlighter can be used again with a damp sponge underneath blush. I actually adore this when I'm having a more subtle makeup day.
10. Seventeen WOW 3 Way Highlighter £5.99
If you're after a great dupe for the Benefit High Beam*, then this is it! The 3 Way Highlighter is a more silvery option which can be worn alone or mixed in with your foundation for a more dewy glow.

Barry M Illuminating Highlighter Palette Review & Photos

Barry M Highlighter Palette
Last month Barry M debuted a whole load of newness including the Barry M Lip Kits, which I talked about in a previous post here. Today I wanted to shed the spotlight on their newest highlight edit, the Illuminating Highlighter Palette, so here's my thoughts...
Price
This palette retails for £6.49 and is available from Superdrug and Boots. Inside you'll find three highlighting shades including a frost white, which is the most pigmented, an iced pink, which is the most subtle out of the three and a bronze/gold, which is perfect if you have darker or tan skin.
Packaging
Although I'm not fond of cardboard casing, this palette comes in the cutest black and rose gold packaging, plus you also get a mirror and three decent sized pans too.
Application
All of the shades are soft to the touch, buildable and give you the most stunning ethereal glow.

This palette does remind me of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette, however, the Barry M version is a little more intense and glowy overall.

I love mixing the white and pink shade together and applying them to the tops of my cheeks, but I also think the bronze/gold highlighter would look stunning across the decollate if you have a tan.
Longevity
This lasted for around ten hours with the exception of the last few hours, where it did start to fade slightly. If you want to get this best from these highlighters longevity wise, I do recommend building up the glow to ensure maximum glow time.
Overall Thoughts
I absolutely adored these highlighters as not only where they budget friendly, but they glided on beautifully to give you that beautiful lit from within glow. Longevity wise they do last pretty well throughout the day, but as I mentioned above I would recommend building up the colours or mixing them if you want them to be more intense and last longer.

So in conclusion, whether you're a highlighting newbie or an absolute strobing addict, this palette is totally worth a look at, if not just for the affordability factor alone.

I award the Barry M Illuminating Highlighter Palette a 4.3 out of 5

Revolution Strobe and Vivid Baked Highlighters Review & Photos

Revolution Strobe and Vivid Baked Highlighters
When it comes to powder highlighters, I think Revolution do an amazing job at creating some stunning and affordable drugstore versions. They also recently released four new highlighters to add to their collection, including three Strobe Highlighters and one Vivid Baked Highlighter. I have three out of the four which I shared in my testing out new drugstore makeup video, so here's my thoughts.
Price
These retail for a super affordable £3 for 7.5g of product. They are also baked which in my experience makes them last for ages!
Packaging
The packaging is very basic, however the highlighters themselves do most of the talking because of the colour selection and stunning patterns indented within the powders and really for me other than the word HIGHLIGHTER this is what sold them to me in the first place!
As I mentioned above there is three new Strobe Highlighters including,
Ever Glow Lights - a white based highlighter with a slight champagne undertone.
Radiant Lights - a light pink champagne based highlighter.
Moon Glow Lights - a subtle dusky pink highlighter.
There is also one Vivid Baked Highlighter in Rose Gold Lights which is a bright rose/coral with a golden undertone.
Revolution Strobe Highlighter in Ever Glow Lights
Revolution Strobe Highlighter in Radiant Lights
Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighter in Rose Gold Lights
Application
All of these are wonderfully pigmented, buildable and apply beautifully to the skin. Ever Glow & Radiant Lights give you that subtle glow especially on paler skin like mine, however you can also use these wet to intensify the glow more. Rose Gold Lights is more of a blush topper that can be worn alone or on top of a matte blusher to add a pretty peachy glow.
Longevity
Rose Gold Lights lasts amazingly, I wore this for a good eight hours with the tiniest bit of wear which was great. The lighter Strobe shades I would say don't last the whole day, so a pre-evening touch up may be needed if your planning on wearing your make-up right into the evening hours.
I'm wearing Rose Gold Lights with Radiant Lights on top.
Overall Thoughts
Overall these are amazing for the price as there's a highlighter to suit everyone within this collection. Yes the packaging is pretty basic but the highlighters defiantly do all the talking and they look equally as stunning on the skin whether you wear them wet or dry. Each powder has a lovely silky, soft consistency which make them blend out beautifully onto the skin and really if your a highlighter or Revolution junkie like me then these are a must for any make-up enthusiast!

I award the Revolution Strobe and Vivid Baked Highlighter 4.5 out of 5

Revolution Ultra Strobe Balm Review & Photos

Revolution Ultra Strobe Balm in Euphoria
Revolution is a brand I discovered about six months ago and it's safe to say I have been obsessed with them ever since! When I'm out shopping I always make a bee line for the Makeup Revolution stand at my local Superdrug, to see what's new and to hunt down anything I haven't tried yet. This time my eyes lit up when I saw the words STROBE BALM, as I'm a total magpie when it comes to anything shimmery, illuminating and glittery. Now I'm already a big fan of the Radiance Lights Palette which is more of a subtle highlighting duo, but this Strobe Balm is a cream highlighter that illuminates the skin and cream highlighters is something I having delved into much, so here's my thoughts.
Price
This retails for only £5.00 for 6.5g of product, which is great value for money if your after a more affordable highlighter to try out. The Ultra Strobe Balm also comes in two shades including Hypnotic, a yellow toned champagne shade and Euphoria, a pink pearlescent shade, which is the one I picked up.
Packaging
The packaging is very simple, yet clear on what the product is and does. I also love the silver box and copper writing on the compact itself.
Application
On the Revolution website it mentions you can actually use this wet as well as dry. I used this dry and applied this with my fingers to the tops of the cheeks, but you could also use this on the cupids bow, nose, or as an all over highlighter rubbed in well, under foundation. The product itself has a gorgeous light creamy texture that applies beautifully over the skin. I liked this best on the cupids bow and tops of the cheeks, but you could wear this on the cheeks underneath a powder highlighter to intensify the glow. For me this worked best with other cream and liquid products including a dewy foundation, cream or liquid blush and no face powder around this area.
Longevity
Because of it's super creamy formula, this didn't last all day for me, so if you are going out at night, I would recommend popping it in your bag for touch ups or if you prefer, set it with a powder highlighter on top.
Overall Thoughts
I loved the pearlescent finish, ultra creamy consistency and affordable price tag of this strobe balm. I also really enjoyed the fact this product was versatile too, even though the consistency is a little bit slippery on the face, but if you use a little at a time and rub it in well, it makes for the most beautiful highlight for the cheeks if your not into powder highlighters. Overall this is a great multipurpose product to try if your an avid highlighter fanatic or you want to try out a cream formula but you don't want to spend loads on trying one out. For me Revolution continues to surprise me with quality, affordability and accessible on trend makeup products.

I award the Revolution Ultra Strobe Balm 4 out of 5
