Maybelline Brow Precise Micro Pencil Review & Photos

Maybelline Brow Precise Micro Pencil
Isn't it amazing how a groomed brow can completly change up your whole face shape within an instant, thanks to the endless brow products and treatments that are now readily available on the market.

Recently Maybelline launched a whole load of new brow goodness, including this Micro Brow Pencil that looks identical to a certain cult favourite, so here's my thoughts...
Price
The Brow Precise Micro Pencil retails for £5.99 and is available from Boots and Superdrug. The pencil also come in three shades including Blonde, Soft Brown and Deep Brown.
Packaging
This tiny pencil is very similar to the cult ABH Brow Wiz with a retractable pencil at one end and a handy spoolie at the other.
Application
Upon application the pencil glides on smoothly and easily thanks to it's precise tip. I also love the fact you can use this to create tiny hair strokes in sparser areas too.

The only thing I would say, is just be aware as this is a soft pencil and so a light hand is essential, as the tip can break of easily if you're not careful.
Longevity
This lasted really well, especially at the start of my brows where I have the least amount of hair. I've also been using this paired with the new Maybelline Fiber Filler, which I will have a review on very soon.

Overall Thoughts
Having tried a fair few of these now, I have to say the ABH Brow Wiz is still one of my favourites. But having said that, the drugstore are doing a pretty good job at creating some amazing dupes too. This Maybelline version has definitely become one of my drugstore favourites along with the Soap & Glory Archery 2 in 1 Brow Filling Pencil. However this is a slightly more affordable version, with a better choice of colours and so I would recommend this option if you love either a defined brow or if you're in need of a natural looking, easy to use pencil to fill in sparse brows.

I award the Maybelline Brow Precise Micro Pencil a 4.8 out 5

A Touch of Blush Pink - Style Diary #18

Blush Pink Details
You've probably seen a theme over my past few style diary's and that is I've got a thing for pink lately, but not just any pink, blush pink to be precise... This colour is everywhere right now and I think judging by the many gorgeous looks I saw over London Fashion Week, pink is definitely here to stay for a few more seasons.

My favourite pink piece I've been wearing non stop is this lace top from Topshop. This is such a great transition top as it can be worn with an all black outfit in the colder months or with light denim jeans and some cute flats come Spring time.

Barry M Matte Me Up Lip Kit Review & Photos

Barry M Matte Me Up Lip Kit
After the phenomena of the Kylie Jenner Lip Kits and following on from my review on the Makeup Revolution's dupes, comes another exciting drugstore version this time from Barry M.

Barry M is a brand I've never really delved into make-up wise, but just recently they have been on top of their new launch game and I have three of the most exciting releases to share with you over the next couple of weeks. So firstly let's kick it off with the one I was the most ecstatic for, the Matte Me Up Lip Kits...
Price
The Lip Kits retail for £6.99 each and come in three Limited Edition shades including, Runway Berry, Pose Pink and Go To Nude. Each kit includes a lip liner and matte liquid lip paint.

There is also five, single matte liquid lip paints that retail for £4.99 each and come in the following shades,
Papparazzi
Pop Up
Embellish
Minimalist
On the Scene

All individual lip paint are available from the Barry M website, Boots and Superdrug and the lip kits are available from Superdrug and Boots only.
Packaging
Each lip kit comes in a colour co-ordinating box with as I mentioned above, the lip liner and liquid lip paint. The single lip paints also have the identical packaging to the ones in the kits too.
Application
I tested out the shade Pose which is a stunning nude/pink with a slight mauve undertone.
Upon application the lip liner glided on with ease, but if I had to compare it to the Revloution one, then I would say that was even more softer to the touch.
The lip paint had a lovely thin consistency, that felt more like a moisturising oil on the lips. The overall finish was super matte, but beautifully pigmented, however it's worth noting that this shade is slightly lighter than the colour shown on the box.
Longevity
Thanks to the combination of the lip liner and lip paint this stayed on most of the day with the exception of a little wear and fading after my evening meal. The only concern I did have was because these are super matte, they can show up every crack on your lips and towards the end of the night my lips did feel quite dry and slightly uncomfortable. So I would advise making sure your lips are super exfoliated and moisturised before application.

UPDATE: I did try the lip liner on it's own too and this wasn't as drying on the lips, plus it lasted really well too.

Overall Thoughts
I have to say I really did enjoy this shade and it was great to see a brand like Barry M do something like this. Price wise these are a pound more expensive than the Revolution versions and unfortunately they do only come in three shades which is a shame. The packaging is gorgeous and despite the limited shade selection the three lip kit colours available are very wearable and perfect for any matte lipstick lover.

The consistency and application of these were impressive and I much prefer the feeling of these compared to the Makeup Revolution versions. However just be aware these can be quite drying towards the end of the night and they do accentuate any cracks you may have on your lips, so as I mentioned above just make sure your lips are well moisturised and flake free before application.

Overall I adored this shade and I think if you do love an affordable matte liquid lipstick, then these are too good not to pick up, it's just a shame they are only limited edition as it's not often you see a drugstore brand bring out a kit with a lip liner and complimenting lipstick together all in one kit.

I award the Barry M Matte Me Up Lip Kit 4 out of 5

Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Angel Mascara Review and Photo's

Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Angel Mascara
If you've been a long-term reader of mine then you'll know I'm fond of a Maybelline mascara. In my opinion, Maybelline has the best selection of affordable mascara's that cater for so many different lash needs.

The Falsies Push Up Angel mascara is the newest addition to the Falsies collection and this one sounds right up my street as it claims to give you a beautiful 'fluttery false lash effect', so here are my thoughts...
Price
This retail's for £7.99 and can be found in most drugstores. It comes in Very Black only.
Packaging
As with all Maybelline mascara's the packaging is always eye-catching, fun and colourful and the brush itself is unlike anything I've ever seen before, as it's super thin with very few bristles.
Application
The shape and length of the bristles made this so easy to apply, as you could really get into the root of the lash with ease. It's also super because it's more like a tiny comb that catches, separates, lifts and lengthens each lash perfectly!
Longevity
This lasts really well throughout the day as the consistency of the mascara is not clumpy, thick or flakey atall.
Overall Thoughts
I'm already a big fan of the original Falsies and the Falsies Push Up Drama mascara, but I have to say I think this may be my favourite of the three, thanks to that tiny little lash catching comb. I do also think the brush plus the formula make for a very appealable mascara combination, that not only helps lift and separate each lash, but also adds length and thickness without the worry of clumps. The brush is a little weird to start with but if you prefer a more lengthening mascara that builds great volume, then this really is worth a look at it if you are in the market for a new mascara.

I award the Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Angel Mascara a 4.9 out of 5

*This product was sent to me, but as always all opinions are my own.

2 Valentine's Outfit Ideas for the Perfect Date Night - Style Diary #17

Valentine's Day Outfit Ideas
With Valentine's Day right around the corner it can be tricky to figure out what is the best attire for a date night whether it's with your husband, partner or even a first date. Nevertheless these two outfit ideas should have you covered either way!

Lastly whatever you decide to do this Valentine's, always remember it's important to love yourself first and the rest will fall into place...
Happy Valentine's!
OPTION 1 - The LBD
The Little Black Dress is forever a perfect option if you're off out on a first date, as it's understated, timeless and classic. I adore this black dress from New Look because it has the right amount of detail without looking too over the top.

Team this look with black heels and a cute clutch and you'll for sure have that 2nd date in the bag in no time at all!
OPTION 2 - Velvet Crush
If your off out with your significant other half, then why not go all out with this season's hottest trend, velvet. This beautiful deep burgundy dress shows off the right amount of skin, plus the added sleeves help keep you warm at the same time. My favourite way to wear this is with black heels and a sequin clutch.
