Top 5 Drugstore Products Worth Buying - MAYBELLINE

Maybelline Makeup
Following on from my last episode of my Top 5 Drugstore Products Worth Buying, is Maybelline. Maybelline has been my favourite drugstore brand for years now because of their on trend, fun and cute packaging, as well as their extensive range of affordable make-up including some fantastic dupes for quite a few cult high end products.
1. Maybelline FIT Me Concealer £5.99 - I have this in shade 10, the lightest and I absolutely love this as it covers up redness and dark circles like a dream! This concealer is also the best dupe for the NARS Creamy concealer, as it too has a stunning light creamy consistency that blends out beautifully under the eyes.

2. Maybelline Color Tattoo £4.99 - I used to love using the Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Shadows, but ever since Maybelline released their vast range of Color Tattoo's I've never looked back. Not only do these come in so many shades, they are totally affordable, pigmented and long wearing too.

3. Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Liner £7.99 - This is another great Bobbi Brown dupe for the Long Wear Gel Eyeliner and having tried both I can honestly say, I see no difference! They are both long wearing and super pigmented, but the Maybelline ones are half the price. The only variation is Maybelline have just four shades, whereas Bobbi Brown have a larger selection of colours to choose from, but I think really black and brown are always great staples to have, over any coloured liner.

4. Maybelline The Falsies Black Drama Mascara £7.99 - I am already a big fan of most of the Maybelline Mascara's, but for me this one comes out on top because it gives you a beautiful voluminous false lash effect, the brush is perfect and it's wonderfully pigmented and affordable too.

5. Maybelline Baby Lips £2.99 & £3.49 each for the Dr Rescue balms - Lip balm is something I defiantly can't live without and it's also something I wear a ton of during the week. The Baby Lips have to be my favourite as they are moisturising, versatile and of course they have the cutest packaging!

Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Gloss Review & Photos

Maybelline Baby Lips Moisturising Lip Gloss
Now I'm already an avid fan of the original Maybelline Baby Lips and if you'd watched my latest video, you would have seen my rather large collection of them! Last year while I was in the US I managed to get my hands on the Baby Lips Lip Gloss which I reviewed here. This year a smaller condensed collection of the gloss's finally arrived here in the UK and thanks to Maybelline, I got to try out the whole seven shades! Having already reviewed these, I will just give you a brief overview of the UK collection with regards, to price, shades and names.
These retail for £4.99 each for 5ml of gloss, which is a little more expensive compared to the US versions, but they are still are a nice affordable price point for a drugstore lip gloss.

The collection consists of 7 wearable shades including,
Taupe with Me - A nude cream based gloss with a slight peachy undertone.
Life's a Peach - A light peachy coral, cream based gloss.
Pink-a-Boo - A subtle light pink cream formula.
Pink Pizzaz - A clear gloss with a slight pink undertone.
Fuchsia Flicker - A very subtle shimmery pink gloss.
Fab & Fuchsia - A clear based gloss with a subtle hint of pink.
Wink of Pink - A clear gloss with a pink shimmer shot through it.
The packaging is, of course, adorable and right up my street and I think I actually prefer the white tops with a pop of colour compared to the contrasting coloured wands on the US versions.
Left to Right - Taupe With Me, Life's a Peach, Pink-a-Boo, Pink Pizzaz, Fuchsia Flicker, Fab & Fuchsia & Wink of Pink
These apply smoothly and don't feel sticky on the lips at all, they also smell delicious too! Each shade gives you a subtle pop of colour, which can be worn alone or on top of the original Baby Lips Lip Balms, which I personally like.
As I mentioned in my original review, I'm not much of a lip gloss lover anymore and I tend to lean more towards a lip balm or liquid lipstick nowadays. But I do love the concept of these and the fact they are non-sticky and moisturising on the lips. I also think these are great for a more younger audience, as well as anyone who is not into lipstick but still likes to wear a subtle pop of colour on the lips. I also think these look great on top of the baby lips lip balms, which would be my personal preference. So if your a total lip gloss junkie, who loves cute packaging, as well as sweet smelling, tinted glosses, then I think these are defiantly worth a peak!

Revolution Fortune Favours The Brave Palette Review & Photos

Revolution Fortune Favours The Brave Palette
If you haven't already guessed by now, Makeup Revolution is fast becoming one of my favourite brands for palette's and having been super impressed with the Iconic Pro 1, I was keen to try out another. Much to excitement I finally hunted down the Fortune Favours The Brave palette in collaboration with British Beauty Blogger at my local Superdrug and I couldn't wait to try this out and play around with some new exciting shades, so here's my thoughts.
Price
This retails for £9.99 which is a little bit more expensive then your regular Makeup Revolution eyeshadow palette, but this a special edition that comes with an impressive 30 shades to play with.
Packaging
I'm already a fan of the standard shadow packaging, but this has to be one of my favourites because of the beautiful gold casing, large mirror, double ended brush and of course the eyeshadow's are visually stunning too! These are a little smaller than your average sized pan but you still have plenty of room to use any sized shadow brush with these.
Application
This palette has a great mix of wearable matte, shimmer and baked shadows, which can also be used wet or dry. Each shade is gorgeous pigmented, blendable and with endless possibilities this is such a great palette to have if your a make-up enthusiast.

I've tried a fair few eye looks with this palette and one of my favourite's has been with the khaki shades, I also used the dual ended brush with the look, which I admit at first, felt artificial and not as high quality as the other Revolution brushes, but when I started using this it was actually very good at blending out the shadows and using for more detailed work.
Longevity
These do last really well on the eyes and my shadow stayed in place right into the evening, but as with all eyeshadows I do recommend using an eye primer to get the most from your shadows, especially if your wanting to wear the same look well into the evening hours.
Overall Thoughts
What a beautiful palette this is, you can really tell how much thought has gone into this, to ensure all the shades are wearable, versatile and the same high quality as the regular Makeup Revolution palette's. The packaging is beautiful, the price point is amazing and with so many endless possibilities, you can't go wrong with this palette! I furthermore love the great mix of matte's, metallic's and shimmers, especially the baked shadows that look stunning foiled as well as dry. The brush is a lovely added extra for more detailed eye looks and if your an eyeshadow fanatic or a Makeup Revolution fan, then this is a superb palette to have in your collection.

I award the Revolution Fortune Favours The Brave Eyeshadow Palette 4.8 out of 5

Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid Lipstick Review & Photos

Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid
Liquid Lipsticks have become quite a thing within the drugstore market due to their accessibility and affordability. Maybelline recently released their own version called the Vivid Matte Liquid and boy are these beautiful and totally appealing to the eye! I was lucky enough to be sent the whole collection and being an avid Maybelline fan as well as a Liquid Lipstick convert I couldn't wait to try these out, so here's my thoughts.
Price
These retail for £6.99 each, which I think is the average price nowadays for a drugstore liquid lipstick or gloss. The collection consists of eight wearable shades including,
Nude Thrill - a taupe nude
Nude Flush - a pink nude
Possessed Plum - a deep berry plum
Berry Boost - a vibrant fuchsia
Electric Pink - a serious bright pink
Coral Courage - a neon coral
Orange Shot -  a red with an orange undertone
Rebel Red -  a true pillar box red
Packaging
The packaging is lovely and simple so that the colour in the tube does the talking, which I like. The doe foot applicator is long and thin which is great when applying the lipstick as you can outline the lip with the tip and then fill in the rest of the lip with long part of the applicator.
Left to Right - Nude Thrill, Nude Flush, Possessed Plum, Berry Boost, Electric Pink, Coral Courage, Orange Shot & Rebel Red
Application
These glide on easily and feel beautifully smooth on the lips. All of the shades are super pigmented and dry matte, but I do recommend applying two thin layers for an even coverage, especially with possessed plum as this is not as pigmented compared to the others and can be a little harder to work with because of the colour. For the pinks, red and deep plum I also suggest applying a lip liner to prevent bleeding out of the lip line, but overall all of the colours look stunning on the lips and three of my favourites are Nude Thrill, Nude Flush and Rebel Red.
Longevity
These are transferable but the colour still lasts really well until you eat, so just make sure you have one to hand to re-apply after lunch or dinner. Like with most liquid lipsticks, especially the matte formulas these can be super drying on the lips and I often end up with a super wrinkly non-attractive lip look! But because of the lovely consistency of these, they don't feel drying at all on the lips and stay beautifully moisturised throughout the day.
Overall Thoughts
The Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid's are a great addition to the drugstore liquid lipstick market and with a terrific, wearable colour selection, admirable price tag and beautiful colour pay off, these are defiantly worth a look at if you've been wanting to try out a drugstore liquid lipstick.

I award the Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid Lipsticks 4.5 out of 5
