The Pay Day Lush List - June

The Pay Day Lush List - June

The Pay Day Lush List - June by pinkparadisebeauty featuring glass serveware
Well another month has been and gone in a flash and I don't know about you, but I'm super excited for the Summer sun, long days and wearing less layers! This month I'm all about the blues hues, pink & gold accents and glowy skin, so here's my June Lush List...
With so much hype surrounding this new affordable skincare brand, I was excited to learn that they are now available from ASOS also. I will certainly be picking up a few bits to try out including this 2% Hyaluronic Acid.

If you're a follower of my Instagram, then you'll know I live in my Quay All My Love Sunglasses in Rose Gold.. I adore the shape and reflective mirror lens and I totally squealed with excitement when I saw they now have them in blue too!

I've been on the hunt for a small silver tray for our coffee table as I've been styling it a bit different lately. I spotted this pretty silver tray from H&M Home that I think will go perfect styled with candles and flowers.

I've never delved into the Jouer brand, however I've been drooling over their new Skinny Dip Collection including this Rose Gold Highlighter, which has gone to the top of my wish list!

While I was in Edinburgh I took a trip to the new H&M on Princes Street. Much to my delight this store also housed a large homeware section. I spotted this adorable glass jug which I thought would look great doubled up as a vase.

Another H&M piece I've been lusting over is this straw clutch. I'm loving all the straw vibes for Summer as they go so well with most looks.

These sandals are very similar to a certain designer pair but at a fraction of the price. I adore this style for Summer as they can be dressed up and down.

I think white jeans are just the perfect staple piece for Summer. I already own these in black, but I think now is a good time to finally invest in this white pair also.

I'm in love with this lightweight smock dress from Boohoo, it's such a great colour and I adore the embroidered detail.

Embroidery & Blues Hues - Style Diary #21

Bardot Embroidered Top
I hope everyone has had a lovely long weekend! My husband and I just got back from a gorgeous weekend in Edinburgh. We had gone with family to support my husband as he ran the EMF Marathon. He did amazingly well and completed the marathon in such great time considering he had never ran a full one before!

Edinburgh also holds a special place in our hearts as this is where Ben proposed to me, romantically in the castle and so this truly was a special weekend all round.

Today I wanted to share with your this beautiful embroidered top which is under £20 from Matalan. I'm totally in love with all the blue hues for Summer and this top is not only lightweight, it's also comfortable and a  great addition to team with jeans or shorts. I've also linked some similar options below too.

MUA Luxe Glow Beam Liquid Highlight Cushion Review & Photos

MUA Luxe Cushion Highlighter
If you'd seen my First Impression Highlighting Series over on my channel here, then you'll know I've been testing out a wide variation of drugstore highlighters. In this final review I'm putting to the test this intresting cushion version called the MUA Luxe Glow Beam Highlight Cushion, so here's my thoughts...
Price
This retails for an affordable £5 and comes in gold only. MUA can be found in Superdrug and MUA online.
Packaging
This is beautifully packaged considering it's only £5 and the compact itself also comes complete with a mirror and sponge too.
Application
This is a cream product and so I do recommended using a cream blush also, as cream products work best all together and powders work better separately.

I applied this with a damp Real Techniques Mini Eraser Sponge to the high points of my cheeks over my creme blush, but I do think personally this would be better to use first then you can put your creme blush on top. But whichever way you decide to apply this, I do think a damp sponge is the way to go as it blends out the product evenly.

Overall this gives you a stunning, sun-kissed glisten, that can be intensified if desired.
Longevity
This did last a good nine hours, but if I was being critical I would say the product did bunch up slightly on my cheeks towards the end of the night.
Overall Thoughts
This was another MUA Luxe HOT product for me! I adored everything about this, from the super affordable price point, beautiful packaging and the gorgeous glisten it gave overall. I also loved the fact this came with a mirror and was nice and compact for travel or to pop in your bag.

Application wise this applied perfectly with a damp sponge and gave my skin the most beautiful sun-kissed glisten, that I think would also look perfect on brides as it's not too in your face. Just be sure to use this with other creme products for best results though.

Overall if your after a subtle, glistening gold highlighter that's compact, easy to use and that is perfect for holidays, then I would for sure give this a go!

I award the MUA Luxe Glow Beam Liquid Highlight Cushion a 4.3 out 5

Primark Metallic Liquid Lipstick Lip Kit Review & Photos

Primark Lip Kit
I think it's safe to say I've tested out my fair share of interesting beauty finds from the mother ship that is Primark and today is no different.

This time we're talking metallic lip kits, so here's my thoughts...
Price
The Primark Get Lippy Lip Kits retail for an affordable £3 each.

There is two matte and two metallic shades to choose from including,
- Cookie Dough (Matte)
- Chocolate Brownie (Matte)
- Molten Lava (Metallic)
- Molten Bronze (Metallic)
Packaging
The kit comes in an attractive metallic box, which is for sure what caught my eye initially.

Inside you'll find a lip liner and liquid lipstick. The liner is beautifully packaged with gold accents, however the liquid lipstick doesn't look as premium compared to the liner, but it is wrapped in your chosen colour and it does come with a doe foot applicator also.
Application
I have already put to the test a few drugstore matte lip kits, so I decided to pick up Molten Bronze which is one of the metallic lip kits instead to demo.

I do recommend you watch the video too, so that you can get a feel for how this performed live.
Firstly I started out with the lip liner. This colour was actually a nice wearable shade for maybe a night out, however the pencil itself was hard to work with and I did have to press down quite firmly to distribute the colour evenly.
The liquid lipstick has a slightly oily, thin consistency and did go on a little patchy, but this is true to colour and buildable too.

Longevity
Longevity wise this was budge proof for the five hours that I had it on, but I did have to take this off after that as my lips felt uncomfortable and the lipstick showed up all the cracks on my lips.
Overall Thoughts
Overall this wasn't good look for me! Yes this is a super affordable lip kit considering you get a lip liner and liquid lipstick in the pack and yes, I did like the fact this came in two matte and two metallic shades too.

Packaging wise this was nicely presented and the lip liner wasn't a bad colour despite this being hard to work with. However... here's the thing, I do think metallic lips are definitely one of those passing trends, just like rainbow highlighters, that will be popular for that point in time, but realistically it's not something that you could wear on a everyday basis. I think this trend is best left for editorial edits instead...

I award the Primark Get Lippy Metallic Lip Kit a 2 out of 5

Makeup Revolution Illuminating Fixing Spray Review & Photos

Makeup Revolution Setting Spray
Makeup Revolution is a brand that I have grown fond of over the past couple of years and today I wanted to share with you the third review from my First Impressions Week Series here. Today we are focusing on this Illuminating Fixing Spray from Revolution, so here's my thoughts...
Price
The illuminating fixing spray is part of a trio of face sprays within the Revolution family. The spray retails for an inexpensive £5 for a 100ml of product and can be found in Superdrug, tambeauty.com and Ulta*.
Packaging
The packaging is pretty but for me the most eye-catching part of this spray is the title. On the back of the bottle it mentions the spray also contains vitamins A, B, E and F, as well as Aloe Vera to help brighten and hydrate the skin.
Application
Just like most fixing sprays, you apply this after makeup all over the face to lock everything in. It is recommend you also shake the bottle before application.

Upon application the mist distributed evenly and felt refreshing on the skin. After I had allowed the spray to dry, the overall look was dewy, glowing and gorgeous.

Initially I have to say I did think for some reason because of the title this would contain iridescent particles to help give you that glow, however the spray was actually clear and did smell a little bit surgical to start with, but overall this felt lovely on the skin.

* I used the Clinque Beyond Perfecting Concealer and Foundation for this demo
Longevity
This kept my skin glowing and my make-up looking fresh for a good ten hours overall. Towards the end of the night my make-up did fade slightly, but on the whole this made my skin look amazing!
Overall Thoughts
Overall I loved this setting spray as not only did it set my make-up, it also gave me the best glow with minimal effort!

I've since tried this out with a few other foundations to see if this worked differently, but I have to say this spray helps any makeup look appear glowy and gorgeous, however I wouldn't recommend this for oily skin as it is very dewy.

I would say this is very similar to the Rimmel #Insta Fix & Go Setting Spray that I tested out a few months back, but I do think the Revolution version is better value for money overall.

So if you're after an affordable and long-lasting fixing spray that gives you the ultimate all over glow, then I would definitely recommend giving this a whirl for the Summer months.

I award the Revolution Pro Fix Illuminating Fixing Spray a 4.7 out of 5

The £3 Drugstore Lipstick That's a MAC Dupe Favourite...

Makeup Revolution Chauffeur
I'm forever on the look out for new lipstick dupes for you guys, as it's always good to know if there's a more affordable option out there if you're a girl on a budget. A few years back I bought to you five purse friendly options for five Kylie Jenner MAC Favourites here and this year I have another great pick from the forever evolving brand Makeup Revolution...
The Rose Gold Lipstick Collection from Makeup Revolution consists of five shades including,

Chauffeur - a medium brown/taupe
Diamond Life - a red berry
Red Carpet - a true red
Private Members Club - a deep vamp plum
Girl's Best Friend - a girly candy pink

These retail for an insanely affordable £3 and the actual packaging looks very similar to the MAC lipstick bullets, the only difference being, these are adorned in rose gold. You can find the full collection over on tambeauty.comSuperdrug and Ulta*.
Today I wanted to focus in on the shade Chauffeur as this is without a doubt the most wearable from the collection. This shade is similar to actually three MAC Shades including, Blankety*, Velvet Teddy* and Cherish*.

On the website the formula is described as a high gloss, however I would say this shade in particular resembles more of a matte formula. Either way I think this is definitely a great everyday staple to have if you're a nude lover or you're on the hunt for that affordable MAC dupe.
