YSL Touche Eclat Foundation First Impression, Review and Photo's

I finally got my hands on the newest edition to the Touché Éclat family as for years I had used the  Highlighter Pen and had always been a big fan of this, so I was excited to know that YSL had created a Foundation to complement this.
The foundation claims to conceal, illuminate and give a radiant glow to the skin.

Price

This retails for £30.50 which is defiantly pricey but this is a premium brand and I think this is what you would expect to pay if your looking for a high end foundation.

This has a great selection of 22 shades to suit light right through to dark skin tones.

Packaging

This comes in a gorgeous gold box and the bottle itself is glass and contains 30ml of product, it also has a hygienic pump dispenser and a beautiful gold lid.

 Application
 This had a medium consistency and I used about three pumps to get the coverage I needed, I applied it with a flat foundation brush and a damp make-up sponge, the colour was buildable and covered my redness and blemishes well, I also had a beautiful glow after application.

Longevity
This lasted pretty well from 10.30am till 9pm at night, I lost most of the radiant glow towards the late evening and some of my redness and pimples became exposed, so I would defiantly advise using a good primer, concealer and setting spray to get the most from this foundation.

Overall Thoughts

Overall I loved this foundation, it did exactly what it said to illuminate, conceal and give a radiant glow, this is a beautiful packaged luxurious Foundation, perfect for Brides or anyone who wants their skin to oose radiance. I personally will only use this at the weekend and special occasions because of the hefty price tag, I would also purchase a slightly darker shade for the Summer too.

As I mentioned above a primer, concealer and setting spray is needed to get the best longevity from the Touché Éclat.

O.P.I Glitter Off Base Coat Review and Photo's

I finally got my hands on the O.P.I Glitter Off Base Coat, I first saw this in a magazine and thought I had to try it as it could solve removing glitter polish with ease.

 Don't get me wrong I love Glitter Polish, but I hate removing it as it always takes longer and because of this I don't wear glitter as much as I'd like too.

Here's my thoughts.

 

Price

This retails for £11.95, the same as their regular Natural Nail Base Coat, which I think is what you expect to pay for a premium unique base coat.

Packaging

This comes in O.P.I's signature branded bottle, with a Glitter Off label explaining how to use this base coat.

 

Application

It applies white and dry's matte and transparent, the brush is a perfect size and the formula is a thin consistency. I applied my chosen Glitter O.P.I - Gaining Mole-Mentum over the top then a top coat to finish.

Removal

Some nails were easier to remove than others, I used a cuticle stick to lift the edge and peel off.

I really didn't like the sensation of the peeling and found it felt like it was pulling half my nail off with it too!

Although the label says use a thin coat, I think this needs two coats of the base to be able to peel the glitter off better and easier when you want to remove.

After removal my nails felt dry and a little damaged from the peeling off and needed re-hydrating with some cuticle oil.

Overall Thoughts

I wanted to love this product but for me it was like a more expensive version of the PVA Glue trick for glitter polish removal, it also smelt like glue too!

 

I really didn't like the pealing off sensation on my nails and how it left them after, as I said in my video I think I would rather go through the normal removal procedure by gently buffing the nail, then soaking a cotton pad with remover to press on the nail, although this is a more time consuming procedure, it's a little kinder to the nail plate and I value my nails as jewels!

Maybelline The Eraser Eye VS MAC Pro Longwear Concealer Dupe/Comparison & Photo's

I have heard a lot of hype about both of these concealer's and first discovered them through the gorgeous Nicole Guerriero on You Tube, she always raves about them and thought I would give them both a try to see what all the hype is about, so here's my first impression on both concealers.

Price

The MAC retails for £15.50 for 9ml and comes in 16 shades I opted for NC15 and Maybelline retails for £7.99 for 6.8ml and comes in two shades Light and Nude, I went for the Light.

 

Packaging

MAC Pro Longwear comes in a glass tube that has a hygienic pump dispenser.

The Maybelline Eraser Eye comes in a plastic tube with a twist applicator that comes out of a small dome shaped sponge.

Application

Upon application the MAC Concealer felt smooth and creamy, the consistency is thin and you need the tiniest amount, half a pump is adequate as a little goes a long way. This conceals and highlights well and the colour is buildable, it feels very light on the skin, I applied this with my fingers.

 

When I initially twisted the Maybelline concealer the colour looked quite orange for the lightest shade, but it came out lighter and highlighted well when you applied it to the under eye. This concealer is a little thicker than the MAC and I love the dome sponge applicator it's so soft around the delicate eye area.

Longevity

They both lasted well throughout the day, but for me the Maybelline lasted a little longer because of the thicker consistency whereas the MAC wore of a bit by the later evening and my dark circles started to show again, I think this would need another layer for better longevity.

Overall Thoughts

This was a close one to call as I they are extremely similar in delivering the same aim to conceal dark under eye circles, each with there own pro's and con's. I love the Pro Longwear for it's light consistency, great shade selection and hygienic pump, but I think the Eraser Eye has won it for me due to it's affordability, longevity and soft sponge applicator.

 

I award the MAC Pro Longwear Concealer 3.5 out of 5 and the Maybelline The Eraser Eye 4.5 out of 5.
