Rimmel #Insta FIX & GO 2 in 1 Primer & Setting Spray Review & Photo's

Rimmel #Insta Fox & Go Primer and Setting Spray
The Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray has always been a staple in my make-up bag, as for years  I could never quite find anything that performed just as well. Finally I know longer need to begrudgingly pay the £23.50 price tag, as you can now pick up one of the many drugstore version's for under £10!

Rimmel are one of the latest brands to launch their own version, wittily named '#Insta Fix & Go'. This spray is actually a 2 in 1 Primer and Setting Spray, which sounds perfect for the girl on the go...
Price
This retails for an affordable £6.99 for a 100ml, which is actually better value for money than the Barry M versions I reviewed last year. The spray is also quick drying and oil-free too.
Packaging
I love the simple yet striking packaging and I think I'm in the majority vote when I say the title sold this to me alone!
Application
It is advised to spray this in circular motions 8 inches away from the face, before to prime and after to set the make-up. I tried this method first, but found spraying this in a T and X motion more beneficial.
Upon application the spray felt ultra refreshing and hydrating, plus it also has a lovely cucumber scent to it too.

The nozzle in which the spray comes out of does seem a little small and I did feel like the product wasn't distributing as evenly as it should do. So to ensure your face is fully covered I recommend, as I mentioned above spraying the product in the T and X shape.
Longevity
Initially as recommended, I tried this as a primer before make-up and after as a setting spray, however I did want to try this the way I would normally use a spray, by spraying first after foundation and again at the end when I had finished my make-up. I'm happy to report both ways were just as good and my face make-up lasted really well, with the exception of a bit of wear around my nose and chin.
Overall Thoughts
What can I say other than I totally fell in love with this 2 in 1 spray, as not only was it fantastic value for money, it was also the perfect muti-tasker too! I adored the smell and feel of this spray on my skin and it truly was a pleasure to use.

Longevity wise this lasted pretty well for me and even my blush was still on by the end of the night, which is saying something! The only thing for me was the nozzle did seem a little small and didn't work as effectively at distributing the product evenly. Despite this minor detail, this is such a fantastic, affordable spray for everyone and anyone who is short for time or who needs their make-up to stay on from dusk till dawn.

I award the Rimmel #Insta Fix & Go 2 in 1 Primer & Setting Spray an 4.8 out of 5

Freedom Prostudio Priming Water Review & Photos - Smashbox Primer Water Dupe

Freedom Primer Water
Just recently Primers have taken on a whole new meaning with the release of the Primer Water. This innovative new product is a hydrating mist that not only helps your make-up last longer but it's supposed to hydrate and prep the skin ready for make-up application. Now although this product is still fairly new to the market, I have already come across a few versions from the Drugstore and if you haven't already seen my review on the Barry M Primer Water I will link it here.

Freedom which is part of the Tam Beauty line also have their own version which I discovered a fair few months back, this Primer Water reminded my of the Smashbox one, so of course I had to give it a go and here's my thoughts.
Price
The Freedom Priming Water retails for £6 for 100ml, which is actually much better value than the Barry M Version, it's also a lot cheaper than the Smashbox version which retails for £20 for 116ml!

Freedom Makeup can be found online at tambeauty.com, as well as selected Superdug stores.
Packaging
The packaging is super simple yet informative on the front as well as the back and just like all primer waters this comes with a spray nozzle for easy and quick application.
Application
The Freedom Primer Water can be used under your make-up to hydrate the skin or over your make-up to add a dewy glow, this also smells like macarons too! All you need to do is hold the bottle slightly away from the face to ensure you apply an even misting of the water.
Longevity
Now although a conventional primers sole purpose is to fill in pores and help make your make-up last longer, primer waters are a little different in the sense they aim to hydrate the skin ready for make-up application, as well as assisting in helping your make-up last that little bit longer. This version for me did exactly that and I actually love the fact it's so light and quick to apply onto the skin if you're short for time.
Overall Thoughts
Firstly if you're wanting a Primer Water to fill in any pores etc. then this really isn't for you, but if you're short for time or you need that extra shot of hydration to your skin before you apply make-up, then this is an excellent and affordable option.

For me comparing this with the Barry M Primer Water I like them equally as much as they both perform superbly, but if you're a fan of scented products and you like value for money, then the Freedom one is a great choice and the Barry M one is ideal for travel. Nevertheless Primer Water's are in general a great addition to anyone's make-up routine especially if you're looking for a wonderful drugstore dupe to the Smashbox Primer Water.

I award the Freedom Prostudio Priming Water 4.9 out of 5

Barry M Setting Sprays and Primer Water Review & Photos

Barry M Mist & Fix and Hydro Fix
If you've seen my Ride or Die Make-Up Tag video you'll know my holy grail setting spray has always been Urban Decay All Nighter. But over the past few years there's been an influx of drugstore brands taking on the setting spray and primer water phenomena. Barry M is the latest brand to create three sprays including two setting sprays and one primer water, so here's my thoughts.
Skip to 17.22 for the review first impression.
Price
These retail for £4.99 each for 50ml, which is quite small compared to the UD All Nighter Setting Spray, but these are such great value for money for the drugstore.
As I mentioned above there is three spray's within this new Flawless family including, two setting sprays, one matte and one dewy, as well as one primer water.
Packaging
I love the packaging for these as they're bright, fun and eye-catching. The waters all come in a spray bottle with hygienic top too.
Application
Now Primer Water's are still something fairly new to the market and the only high end brand I know of that does one is Smashbox. I also have another drugstore version that I will be reviewing too, so keep your eyes peeled for that too. A Primer Water is designed to use as an alternative to your regular serum or cream formula before make-up application.

I applied this as advised before my make-up in a T and X motion to evenly cover my face. I actually loved this as a substitute to my regular primer as it felt refreshing on the face, it's also a perfect quick, less messy option too.
After you've finished your make-up it's time to set everything into place and I really like the fact there is two finishes to choose from whether you like your make-up to have a dewy or matte finish. I chose the matte option and again this is easy to apply to the face because of the spray nozzle application.
Longevity
I was super impressed by how both sprays helped keep my make-up looking fresh and matte all day and for me they did an equally amazing job as both my high end primer and setting spray.
Overall Thoughts
Both the primer and setting spray were amazing and Barry M certainly delivered with these! The packaging is eye catching and the choice of setting sprays and a primer water is just fantastic for a drugstore brand as they are both accessible and affordable. Longevity wise as I mentioned above these are equally as good as high end primers and setting sprays I've tried and if you struggle with your make-up lasting all day, then these are defiantly worth giving a go as they won't break the bank.

I award the Barry M Setting Sprays and Primer Water 4.9 out of 5
