Beauty Blender Review and Photos

Hey Guys,
Hope your all having a great start to the week!
I'm probably the last one on earth to try the Original Beauty Blender, but I finally snapped it up as I do like a good make-up sponge and I know everyone raves about it, so of course I was dying to try it!

Are you a fan of the Beauty Blender, love it or hate I would love to know, or do you have a makeup sponge you love more than the infamous Beauty Blender, let me know in the comments below or tweet me at www.twitter.com/lauraPPBeauty
Here's my thoughts.
The Original Beauty Blender

Price
This retails for £16 here in the UK

I picked mine up at Sephora where it retails for $19.95

This is a lot for a make-up sponge but for a high end brand where the hype speaks for itself I think it's defiantly worth the money as it lasts and is latex free and I always say having the right tools to apply your makeup makes a world of difference to how it can look on your face.

Packaging
This comes boxed with a simple instruction leaflet on how to use, I recommend keeping the packaging as it comes in handy when drying your BB Sponge as mentioned in the little leaflet.
Application
When I first saw the Beauty Blender I was surprised at how tiny it looked in real life, it always looked so much bigger in pictures, as does everything. The quality of this sponge is amazing like nothing I had felt before, so soft to the touch.

To use the sponge I rinsed it in water, squeezed out the excess and placed it in a towel to get the remainder of the water out as recommended on the leaflet.
It transformed into double the size just like magic!
I used the Revlon Photo Ready Foundation with the sponge on the right side of my face and my favourite Real Techniques Buffing brush with the foundation on the left side.

Upon application the sponge is light and bouncy on the skin and helps give the foundation a beautiful flawless airbrushed finish it also helps it apply evenly throughout the face.

Overall Thoughts
For me I wasn't sure what to expect from this pretty pink sponge although I had heard people rave about it, I had reviewed the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge earlier this year and had enjoyed this version, so I did wonder what would make the Beauty Blender even better than any other makeup sponge.

Overall I was very impressed on how flawless this made my foundation look and you can defiantly see the difference compared to the brush application side. The sponge felt so light on the skin and actually made my foundation feel even lighter on my face.

This has defiantly converted me to using a the Beauty Blender every time I apply my foundation because it can make any foundation look amazing, although the price is a little expensive if you make one investment to your make-up bag let it be the Beauty Blender!

Make Up For Ever HD Foundation Review & Photos

This has been on my wishlist for a long while now, but it is not as easily accessible here in the UK, while my mum was on holiday I very kindly asked her to pick this up for me as I knew she would be going near a Sephora. I also wanted to try this out as a possible foundation to use when I get married, here's my thoughts.
Sephora now ship to the UK

Price
This retails for $42 on the Sephora website which converts to around £25 which is pricey for a foundation, but this is a high end foundation that is more affordable than some luxury foundations.
Packaging
This comes boxed with a detailed description of the foundation on the box. The bottle itself is plastic, which I didn't expect as I always thoughts it looked like glass from photos I had seen and the famous Revlon dupe for this is glass. The bottle has a hygienic pump dispenser and lid so you can control how much you pump out.

The foundation contains 30ml of product and comes in 25 shades to suit your skintone, on the box it describes the foundation as giving a natural flawless finish which is oil free and diffuses light.
Application
I used the shade N117, I applied the foundation with a Real Techniques Buffing Brush, the foundation had a medium consistency and the colour match was perfect for my skin tone.
This is a full coverage consistency foundation as it was hard to blend in, but it covered all my redness perfectly and is defiantly buildable to achieve the desired coverage you like. On a side note I think this foundation would apply better and easier with a damp sponge or Beauty Blender as it was quite hard to apply with the brush.
Longevity
I didn't use a primer or setting spray when testing this foundation out as I like to show you how it wears in it's truest form. For me this stayed amazingly well all day a full 10 hours to be precise and it felt so light weight on the skin despite it's thick consistency. By the end of the day it still looked flawless and dewy as when I applied it that morning, if I was being critical I would say a tiny bit faded on my nose but to be honest I cannot fault it's staying power!
Overall Thoughts
Upon review this is defiantly up in my top 5 of amazing foundations list! Number one is my Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua but I'd say I think this has knocked it of the top spot, it did everything I wanted a foundation to do including great longevity and buildable coverage that gives a flawless dewy finish. As I mentioned before this would apply better with a damp sponge or beauty blender to get the best results. My only con is the price, this is a little expensive at £25 but not nearly as pricey as the Chanel foundation's which come in at the £35 mark! If your looking for a wonder foundation that ticks all the above boxes and your willing to spend that little extra then this could be for you!
