Yes to Cucumbers Soothing Facial Towelettes

Although wipes are not the best for your skin, the Simple facial wipes have been a staple in my evening skincare routine for a couple of years now. I just love how they help to remove the initial layer of face make-up before cleansing. I had been eyeing up the Yes To Facial wipes for a while, since I discovered they where finally stocking the brand in Boots. I ended up choosing the Yes to Cucumbers Soothing Facial Towelettes as these removed make-up, which is what I wanted them for and the others where targeted more for cleansing and exfoliating. Here's my thoughts.

Price

These retail for £3.99 for 30 wipes, where as the Simple ones are £3.49 for 25, so they work out around the same if you add five more wipes to the Simple pack. This is a great price for such an individually different, natural brand, as most charge a lot more if they are organic or have something special in them.

Packaging

You defiantly can't miss this packaging when you walk down the skincare aisle, as each collection within the Yes To line is brightly packaged. I love this packaging as it's vivid, fun and represents what the brand is about.

Application

The Yes To brand has five eye-catching collections that are paraben and cruelty free and contain 98% of natural ingredients, they include,

- Yes to Cucumbers for Sensitive Skin

- Yes to Grapefruit for Uneven Skin Tones

- Yes to Tomatoes for Acne Prone and Combination Skin

 

The Yes To Cucumbers Soothing Facial Towelettes are targeted for Normal to Sensitive skin and are used for make-up removal and cleansing. They contain Aloe Vera, Green Tea and Cucumber extracts which help to gently soothe the skin. When I opened the pack the first thing I noticed was how soft and luxurious the wipes felt, they are also a nice size too. The smell is very cucumber scented, if a little overpowering for my liking. They removed most of my make-up with ease, apart from the more stubborn areas around my eyes, which I would recommend using an oily or micellar remover for this part. Although these did a great job of cleansing and removing my make-up, they made my skin feel warm and a little red after use. I continued to use these for the rest of the week to see if there was any change, but they did exactly the same after each use which was a shame. On a side note I have a Normal to slightly Combination skin type.

 

Overall Thoughts

Overall I love the natural ethos of the Yes To brand and how they cater for every skin type and concern. The quality of each product is well thought out and great value for money for a drugstore brand. I loved the packaging, quality and price tag of these wipes, but they just weren't for me due to the smell, redness and warming sensation, which left my face feeling a little uncomfortable and distressed looking which is a shame. This hasn't put me off wanting to try some of the other collections from the Yes To line, but with regards to the Yes To Cucumber wipes I will be sticking to my Simple ones for the moment as I know they do the job for my skin type.
