Lean Greens Supplement Powder Review & Photos

Lean Greens Food Supplement

If you've seen any of my healthy food ideas videos you'll know I'm big on healthy eating and follow the 80/20 rule. Let's be real now everyone loves the bad stuff and I don't believe in depriving yourself from the naughty food, nor do I believe in dieting, it's just about everything in moderation.

I have been taking a Chlorella tablets for years now and think there a great addition to any diet as sometimes we don't have time to prepare and eat healthy meals all the time, so an added supplement is a great way to ensure your always getting your daily intake of good nutrients into your body. Recently Lean Greens reached out to me to see if I would be interested in trying their green supplement, so here's my thoughts.
Price
A starter pack retails for £49.11 and includes a 500g tub of Lean Greens Powder and a black shaker cup. A 500g tab should give you around 30 servings as mentioned on their website.

Packaging
This comes in a black tub which is hygienically sealed, as well as a scoop to measure out the correct proportions each day. On the back of the tub it tells you what ingredients make up the Lean Greens Supplement as well as instructions on how to use. The drinks shaker is also black and is a nice size to take with you if your on the go. I also like the fact the shaker comes with a small black tub to carry one serving of your Lean Greens to take with you and make up if your in a rush in the morning.
How to Use and What's In It?
I had a 50g tub sent to me and this lasted me a whole month. It's recommended you mix together one heaped scoop with a glass of water or you can mix it into your favourite smoothie or juice for an added green boost. Please bear in mind this is a supplement and shouldn't be used to replace meals etc. I see this as an added supplement boost to take along side your normal intake of food and drink. It's a great way to get that superfood boost into your regular diet if your a person that's on the go or doesn't get as much green into their diet as you'd like too. The Lean Greens powder itself contains a powerhouse of amazing nutrients including Spirulina, Chorella, Spinach, Alfalfa, Barley and Wheatgrass.

Overall Thoughts
I combined using this alone as well as added into my morning smoothie or juice. The powder itself mixes really well and doesn't have any nasty lumps of powder floating around. This smells like authentic green tea and also tastes like it too with a little sweetness added. I actually didn't mind the taste at all and thought it tasted pleasant, plus if your an avid green tea drinker the taste shouldn't bother you at all. Being an IBS sufferer, after a month of using this my tummy felt less bloated, flatter and I just felt more comfortable overall. The only thing that was missing for me, was maybe a little information booklet included in with your order, with maybe some healthy recipes to use alongside your supplement powder, as well as a little background information on the benefits of some of the ingredients.

So if your looking for that added supplement to incorporate into your everyday diet or just need an extra shot of green goodness, then this could be for you!

Lean Greens are offering all my lovely readers a trial 250g tub of Lean Greens Powder for £7.

I award the Lean Greens Food Supplement 4.8 out of 5

Healthy Detox Juice Recipes

Healthy Detox Juicing Recipes
Juicing has been a passion of mine for many years now,  I just love the fact you can consume more than your average meal portion of fruit and veg in one glass. These magic juices, as I like to call them are super quick to make and help me drink up vegetables I wouldn't necessarily have. They are also refreshing and filling and great if your on the go.

I wanted to share with you three of my all time favourite recipes that are full of essential vitamins and perfect for first time juices. These juices are best served fresh over ice and a glass of water is a good idea to have after, to wash off any acidity you may have on your teeth. I hope this inspires you to get juicing, tweet me or leave a comment down below on what your favourite juice is?

A word on my juicer - Juicers can be expensive although I think it's a great investments if your not very good in getting your five a day in. I use the Philips Viva Juicer, which is a great compact version, that doesn't produce much pulp, helping you gain maximum juice and less waste.
Juice 1 - Red Beet Cleanse Juice
- 2 Apples, Gala or Golden Delicious are best
- Half a Lemon with the rind cut off
- 3 or 4 stalks of celery, keep the leaves on they are full of goodness
- 2 Raw Beetroot with the skin cut off
Juice 2 - Happy Skin Carrot Juice
- 2 Apples
- 7 or 8 carrots topped and tailed
- A small piece if Ginger, depending on how strong you like it
Juice 3 - Go Green Detox Juice
- 2 Apples
- Half a Cucumber
- 3 to 4 stalks of Celery
- Half a Lemon with the rind cut off

Bootea Teatox Review and Photos

Bootea Teatox
I'm always on the lookout for new and innovative natural healthy food and drink to try and recently came across this very interesting looking Bootea. I had noticed quite a few pictures of it on Instagram and was curious to try it out as I saw a lot of positive feedback on the product.

Bootea is an all natural herbal tea that assists in the detox of your body's unwanted waste and aids in a healthy lifestyle. Don't be fooled this is not a diet tea and this is what I like about this brand. I don't believing in dieting and follow the 80/20 rule, I stay healthy 80% of the time including working out 4-5 times a week, but I don't deprive myself from naughty stuff, if I want it I will have it, I believe balance is the key.
Please read Bootea's Disclaimer before purchasing any of their kits, as they are not to be used as a replacement in any way.

What do you like to do to stay healthy?
Price
The price will depend on how many days you would like to do the teatox for, here are the options,
14 Day Detox -  includes 14 Daytime Detox tea bags and 7 Bedtime Cleanse tea bags and retails for £19.99 plus £3.99 standard P&P. This works out at £1.14 per tea bag.

28 Day Detox - includes 28 Daytime Detox tea bags and 14 Bedtime Cleanse tea bags and retails for £37.99 plus P&P but at the moment this is in the sale for £34.99. This works out at around 93p per tea bag.

You can also buy the Daytime and Bedtime teas separately with 14 tea bags in each at £10.99 plus P&P.

As I did this with my fiancé we decided to purchase the 28 day detox and share the detox over 14 days, which is a cheaper way of doing it if there's two of you.

For me this is a little pricey compared to buying a pack of normal green tea, especially the P&P as the packs are light as anything! But this is not something your going to drink everyday and it is specially formulated in the aid of detoxing.
Packaging
The tea bags come in a pouch labelled with which is the daytime and bedtime tea. They have clear instructions on what to do and what is in each tea bag.
Bedtime Cleanse Tea
The tea bags contains loose leaves which are wrapped in a silky triangle netting to prevent you from getting the loose tea in your mug. Unfortunately one of our daytime tea bags had come apart when we received it which was a shame but we did manage to salvage it to use.
The Teatox
We started this on a Saturday as it does mention on the Bedtime Cleanse that some of the ingredients may act as a laxative, so safer to start when you don't have anything on!

You drink one daytime detox tea every morning upon waking and the bedtime cleanse every other evening, let your tea bag brew for three minutes then throw away the tea bag. It is also advised to try and avoid meat throughout the process as it helps you achieve maximum benefits of the teatox, we just switched to Quorn products throughout the two weeks.

Bedtime Cleanse - When I tried the first bedtime tea it didn't smell or taste that appealing, but after the 2nd tea I could taste the Peppermint leaves and this actually turned out to be a lovely calming tea to have before I went to bed.

Daytime Detox - This was my favourite tea as I could taste the lemongrass, it also had Nettle in it which is great for the tummy.

The TMI bit! - Towards the end of the 1st and into the 2nd week I did experience the laxative effect on a number of times, it did feel like I was having a colonic on a regular basis! But it felt great to know that the tea was really working and clearing out my nasty toxins.
Overall Thoughts
Overall I have really enjoyed doing the teatox, both my fiancé and I didn't do it to loose weight but to detox which we do at least twice a year anyway. I defiantly feel lighter and less bloated and yes another TMI bit, it did help me go more regular which felt great!

The teas where lovely and I will miss having a cup of teatox in my daily routine.
I defiantly recommend this as an addition to a healthy lifestyle if you just feel you need a detox or have something special coming up to aim for, but do be warned it does make you go so best to be in your own home if you can!
If you have any questions their website is super informative or you can also tweet them at,
The only thing for me was the price of the P&P, £3.99 is a little pricey for such lights packets of tea.

I award the Bootea Teatox 4.5 out of 5

DIY Body Exfoliator

Exfoliation is great for getting rid of dead skin cells on the body, enhancing your tan and giving you that all around glow to the skin. Really we should exfoliate twice a week to remove any unwanted dry skin.

Personally I can never find a body exfoliator that does the job really well, instead I make my own DIY exfoliator with a few store cupboard essentials, which makes my skin feel silky soft.

You will need:

1. One tbsp. of Coconut Oil
2. Five tbsps. of Sugar
3. Two tsps. of Honey

Mix this all together to form a paste and take into the shower and scrub away! This recipe usually does me two full body scrubs.

(Note: A patch test is recommended if you have sensitive or allergy prone skin)
