Most Used Summer Beauty Products 2012

Nars Laguna Bronzer
I used to use a MAC bronzer until I found the famous Nars Laguna, it is such a beautiful matt bronzer which is not orange at all, I hit pan as it has become my Summer go to bronzer.

Urban Decay NYC Palette
This is filled with a beautiful array of colours to play with and endless eye look combinations to suit day and night. It comes in such a beautiful box with two Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Pencils and a travel size Primer Potion. I have loved experimenting with this palette to create limitless summer eye looks.

Carmex Strawberry Lip Balm
I love this lip balm as it smells gorgeous, plumps my lips with a slight tingling effect and has SPF 15 for those sunny days.

Urban Decay Naked Palette
Another great classic from Urban Decay that I have used every day since I got it, it has a beautiful mix of neutral colours for everyday.

Essie has come out with some great colours this summer, my favourite are Penny Talk a Rose Gold toned polish, Bikini So Teeny, a stunning cornflower blue & Mint Candy Apple an old favourite.

China Glaze in Shocking Pink
This milky light neon pink has been so pretty for summer and I am yet to find another pink as beautiful as this.

If you're a fan of deep musky perfumes then you'll love this, I love the original princess but this takes it to whole new level, a beautiful summer night's perfume.

Finally after much anticipation, Essie's Summer 2012 Collection finally came to the UK! So of course I had to get my hands on the colour of the moment 'Bikini so Teeny' and boy I wasn't disappointed on the hype of this colour. It is a crème colour Blue which comes off as the most beautiful cornflower blue you have ever seen on your nails, so much so that I painted it twice this week.

Blue Nail Polish Obsession Swatches & Dupes

My most worn nail colour hands down is pink, but I have this slight obsession with blue nail polish, I just think it looks really polished on the nail and I feel important when I wear this colour!

You can get so many different types and finishes these days and I think blue is more of an acceptable colour to wear now, as it has become as classic as red.

I thought I would share with you some of my favourite blue polishes.

Blue Nails Left to Right: Leighton Denny Miss Behavin', O.P.I Road House Blues, Gelish Magneto Inseperable Forces and O.P.I Dating a Royal

I love collecting beauty & makeup books; they are so colourful and full of tips & tricks that inspire me for a lifetime, so I thought I would share with you my top 3 makeup & beauty books that I cannot live without.

1. Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual

There is just so much in this book that I refer to time and time again and I always learn something new from it every time I pick it up.

2. The 21st Century Beauty Bible
This is my Holy Grail book as it is filled with beauty products 'tried & tested' by real women. It lists a description on the highest rating products and is divided into sub categories including everything from mascara to cleansers & perfume to shampoo. I just love referring to this book if I need a new beauty product that I need to know works well and I can get results from.

It's also filled with tips and tricks to inspire you from head to toe.

3. About Face Celebrity Makeup Techniques by Scott Barnes

Benefit The PoreFessional Pro Balm Review & Photo's

I was excited to try one of Benefit's newest products, Benefit's POREfessional, I had heard so many good things about this wonder balm and so I had to get my hands on this must-have product!

It is described on the tube as a 'PRO balm to minimise the appearance of pores' which is 'oil-free, lightweight, translucent & silky'
PACKAGING
The packaging is beautiful & quirky and it comes boxed with a great leaflet on how to use the primer. The actual primer itself comes in a small tube and contains 22.0 ml of product. I was quite shocked when I opened the box to find the tube was quite tiny in comparison to other primers I have purchased, but I was advised at the counter a little goes a long way.

TEXTURE
The texture of this balm feels so silky smooth and the consistency is not too thick or thin just right so it feels weightless on the face.

COVERAGE
It covered my skin well and you only need a little bit as it dispersed easily. For me, I don't really have any visible pores to cover but it filled in any lines and partial pores around my nose and set a great base for my foundation.

APPLICATION
I used my fingers to apply as I felt I got the most out of the product by using the warmth of my fingers. It is really easy to apply but if you are a novice to primers & balms it comes with a great picture instruction leaflet on how and where to apply which is really helpful to keep.
The lady at the Benefit counter also suggested applying around the lip area to keep lipstick from feathering.

 Before
After
LONGEVITY
This lasted all day for me from 8am in the morning till 11pm at night, it was hot outside too and my make-up didn't slide around or budge all day.
2pm
PRICE
The RRP is £23.50 which I think is a little on the pricey side for such a small tube, this would be great for a special occasion or as part of your weekend make-up routine, but not something I would use on a daily basis because of the price tag.
FINAL THOUGHTS
I would award this product a 4.5 out of 5, it's an amazing product that does what it says on the tube, with great instructions, a super silky texture that is lightweight and lasts all day. The only downside for me is the size, it seems very tiny for how much you're paying and is something I will only use on weekends. But overall this is another amazing product from Benefit and it will for sure be in my must-have makeup kit!

My Top 3 Favourite Deep Conditioner's featuring, Philip Kingsley, Ojon & Macadamia

If you have long, damaged or coloured hair a deep conditioner can be essential to help moisturise & restore the hair. I have long, coloured hair also so I like to do an intense hair mask once a week to ensure my ends stay hydrated, shiny and healthy. I thought I would share you with you my top 3 deep conditioners that work for me.

From Left to Right, Macadamia Deep Repair Mask, Philip Kingsley Elasticizer and Ojon Restorative Hair Treatment

Macadamia Deep Repair Mask
This mask is truly amazing, I recently discovered this and now I can't be without it, it smells divine for a start and has a thick luxurious gooey texture to it. I like to concentrate this on the ends and then I use a wide tooth comb to evenly distribute the product through my hair while I'm in the shower, leave it for 7 Minutes then you wash it off. I like to compliment this by using the Macadamia Rejuvenating Shampoo. My hair after feels amazing like silk it really does the condition the hair amazingly!

Philip Kingsley Elasticizer

This is a cult favourite of mine, such an iconic product and was originally made for Audrey Hepburn!
This product is amazing you only have to see all the reviews for yourself, it is a little pricey but I think totally worth the money when you can see what it does to dry, damaged or brittle hair. It makes my hair feel soft and hydrated and you can see the results the more you use.

You apply this to damp hair before you wash it, then you put on the plastic cap that comes with it to help penetrate the ingredients into the hair. It says to leave for 10-20 Min's but I often leave it on a lot longer to get the most from this genius product.

Ojon Restorative Hair Treatment
I love this product for it's entirely natural contents, it helps restore my hair if I want an all over intense hair treatment. The story of this beautiful product is really inspiring as it comes from deep within the remote rainforest in Central America and founded by Denis Simioni a guy who just stumbled upon it! I admit the smell is not so great, it does remind me of smoke but this is an entirely natural product and I know they do sell a not so strong smelling version of this product.

When applying you use the comb provided to scoop out half a teaspoon into your hand, I do find I need more than half a teaspoon to evenly distribute this throughout my hair. The texture feels like putty but with the warmth of your hand it liquefies into an oil that is easy to apply to the hair. You apply to dry hair before shampooing and I tend to wrap my hair in a bun and let the goodness sink in for around 20 Min's or longer if you have more time. You then carry on with your normal hair routine shampoo/condition to reveal restored conditioned hair.
