April Beauty 2014 Favourites Featuring MAC and Revlon

Well another month has flown by in 2014, can you believe how quick this year is going!
I've had some firm favourites this month, so here goes my April Beauty Favourites for you.
What have been yours this month? Happy May!
This has been my lifesaver this month, I've been so busy working so this has come in handy more than once!
I re-discovered this lovely nude MAC Lipstick, it looks beautiful with a bold or coloured eye.
Another re-discovery, I have been applying this with a damp sponge and I'm loving the result. It makes my skin look flawless and airbrushed with great coverage.
I have been recently sporting more colourful eyes coming into Spring, so I pulled out this old favourite of mine MAC Melba Blush it gives the most beautiful peachy cheeks.
This has been stocked away in my Beauty cupboard for ages while I used up other hair products, until I recently starting using this amazing oil. I apply three pumps to my ends on damp hair and it really does keep my hair moisturised and hydrated.

Real Techniques Silicone Liner Brush Review & Photo's

While watching Pixywoo on YouTube I discovered Nic had a new brush she was using from the Real Techniques Collection Nic & Sam created, it looked interesting as I always struggle to apply winged liner and end up with a wonky wing! Do any of you guys have that problem??
So here's my thoughts on the Real Techniques Silicone Liner Brush.
Price
This retails for £5.99 which is a great affordable price for a premium drugstore make-up brush.

Packaging
The brush is nicely packaged with an informative description and link to their website for a tutorial on how to use the brush. The brush itself is in uniform with all the other Real Techniques brushes with the coloured handle and black top, the handle is really thin but easy to hold as it is long.
 Application
I tested this brush in comparison to my Bobbi Brown Ultra Fine Eye Liner Brush to see how they both applied. I used a gel liner with this brush and on first use of the silicone brush it felt quite stiff but it gave a nice precise line, personally I sometimes don't have a steady hand when it comes to eyeliner application, so it took me some time to get used to this brush and practise with it as it is so different to the Bobbi Brown one.
Overall Thoughts
Although I am a big fan of the Real Techniques brushes for me personally I still need some time to get used to this type of brush and a bit more practise. I can say that this silicone brush does give a nice thin precise line and is great for doing the feline flick, I think the gel liner wasn't working for me and I think a liquid liner would work better with this particular brush.
Overall I would stick to the Bobbi Brown fine eye liner brush for lining the lash line and use the Real Techniques Silicone liner brush for a feline flick or if I want to draw a very fine line.

I award the Real Techniques Silicone Liner Brush a 3.5 out of 5

Have you tried this brush, let me know your thoughts in the comments below?

NYX Butter Gloss Review, Swatches & Photos

I was really intrigued by the hype of NYX Cosmetics current offering so I was excited to finally get my hands on these Butter Glosses! Here's my thoughts.
PRICE
These are a steal at £5, I think this is a great price for such a premium formula product.

PACKAGING
The packaging is simple and cute, I love that the whole tube is coloured to match the gloss inside and they look really pretty on your make-up vanity!
There is 6.5g of product compared to a MAC Lipglass which holds 4.8g of gloss and is priced at £14!
The collection comes in 12 colours here in the UK ranging from a natural nude to a bright pink.
APPLICATION
On opening the tube the consistency looks gooey and sticky, they have a beautiful sweet vanilla scent and the colour I found was buildable for a more vibrant or natural look.
They apply smoothly and the applicator is the perfect size for my lips, it feels so light and smooth like I have nothing on.
LONGEVITY
I tested Peaches and Cream out from 9am to 7pm, unfortunately these don't last all day but they also don't claim to be long wearing.
Around mid-morning the gloss started to wear after snacking but it still left a little colour on the lips, I did have to re-apply after eating lunch as the gloss had totally worn off by then. It did last again into the afternoon but did slightly wear as per mid-morning then around 6pm when I had my evening meal it had totally worn off again.
OVERALL THOUGHTS
I can see why these little glosses have created such a cult following, they are cute and handbag sized, apply smoothly with ease to create a buildable colour, they smell amazing and are only £5! For me these are a hit and I am excited to try more colours within this range, my only disappointment is that you do have to re-apply throughout the day, but this is a small price to pay for such a brilliant lip product.

I award the NYX Butter Gloss 4.6 out of 5
