Last year I posted about the Pixi Liquid Lipsticks in my inital review here. The original line up consisted off five stunning nude/brown shades that are all infused with Rose Hip Seed Oil. These were and still are some of my favourite liquid lipsticks to date mainley because they are so comfortable and actually moisturising on the lips! So if you are still a fan of a liquid or matte lip then I wanted to share with you six more shades that have been added to the collection that I have swatched, however there is now a further three more shades that I will include the names off down below. Also be sure to let me know your favourite shades in the comments section too!
*Gifted
AU NATURELLE - A nude with an orange undertone.
BARE BEAUTY - The perfect everyday cool toned nude.
MATTE BEIGE - A slightly deeper cool toned nude.
PASTEL PETAL - A stunning pink nude.
REALLY ROSE - A deep pink nude.
EVENING ROSE - A deep pink with a red undertone.
PEONY PINK - A cool toned bright pink.
PRETTIEST PINK - A hot Summer pink.
ORANGE RED - A vibrant red with an orange undertone.
REAL RED - A stunning classic red.
BERRY BOOST - A deep berry red.
CALIENETE CORAL(NEW) - A burnt coral perfect for Autumn.
BERRY BEAUTY(NEW) - A dirty pink.
PLEASING PINK(NEW) - A medium deep pink with a mauve undertone.
Out of the ones I have swatched my favouties are Bare Beauty which is such a stunning and wearable nude shade, Peony Pink, which is a soft pink and perfect for Spring and Summer, as well as Orange Red (great with a tan!) and one of my original favourites Matte Beige, a slightly deeper nude compared to Bare Beauty.
Happy 1st day of Spring guys! Today in celebration of the start of the warmer weather and Spring blooms I thought I'd share with you these Pixi Matte Liquid Lipsticks that are infused with Rose Hip Seed Oil. Now don't get me wrong, Liquid Lipsticks are notorious for being dry and uncomfortable, but these sound promising because of the added oil factor. So without further ado here are my thoughts and everything you need to know about these Pixi beauties...
Price
Altogether there are 6 shades to choose from including, Au Naturelle, Matte Beige, Pastel Petal, Really Rose and Evening Rose. There is also a new edition called Prettiest Pink. Each retails for £16 for 6.9g of product.
Packaging
The wand is wrapped in Pixi's pretty mint green uniform, but this doesn't take away from the star of the show, the colour inside, which you can clearly see from the outside of the lipstick casing.
I also love the size of these as they're nice and compact to pop in your bag for on the go touch-ups.
Inside you'll find a lovely tear dropped shaped application for a more precise application.
Application
These have a super smooth and thin consistency which helps them glide on effortlessly. All of the shades are also intensely pigmented and dry down more or less straight away to reveal a natural and comfortable matte finish.
These are buildable but personally, I think one layer is enough, however, if you want to team them with your favourite lip liner then these work just as well on top of a lip pencil. I've been enjoying using Matte Beige combined with my favourite MUA Lip Liner in Desert Sand and if you love MAC's Mehr and Brave then Really Rose and Evening Rose are the Liquid Lipsticks for you!
Pixi Matte Last Au Naturelle
Pixi Matte Last Matte Beige
Pixie Matte Last Pastel Petal
Pixi Matte Last Really Rose
Pixi Matte Last Evening Rose
Longevity
Despite a bit of transfer these certainly have staying power, even after eating. I only had to touch up once in the early evening.
An added bonus is the liquid lipsticks come off really easily with either just a cotton pad and some makeup remover or a regular face wipe.
Overall Thoughts
Although they're only being six shades to choose from each shade is totally wearable for everyone and anyone and I definitely think the added oil aspect really helps these liquid lipsticks feel so much more comfortable on the lips overall.
Price wise these are a little more expensive than a drugstore liquid lip however you are getting more for your money which is always a bonus, plus the applicator makes for an all-around easy and quick application process.
If you've read my reviews on liquid lips in the past you'll know I kind of have a love-hate relationship with them, I think mainly because of the fact they can be so drying and uncomfortable on the lips! Nevertheless, these Matte Last Liquid Lips from Pixi have helped me fall back in love with this kind of lipstick thanks to their well thought out formula and applicator.
Have you guys tried these, I would love to know your thoughts also?
I award the Pixi MatteLast Liquid Lip a 4.8 out of 5
*These were sent to me but as always all opinions are my own.
Over the past few years, supermarket make-up brands have stepped up their game with on-trend and affordable make-up products. Today I'm testing out George at Asda Makeup which is something I have been intrigued to test out for a while now, so here are my thoughts...
Price
I picked up three products to try out from the George at Asda Makeup Collection including, the Tamer Brow Cream which retails for a super affordable £3 for 1.5g of product. This comes in Medium and Dark as far as I can see.
The Highlight Palette which contains four stunning colours including, Lustre - A white/silver shimmer Sunset - A golden shimmer Glow - A light rose/pink Goddess - A bronzy/gold
This retails for £6 for 4.5g of product and it's also the most expensive of the bunch.
And lastly the Matte Lip in A List which retails for £4.50 for 6ml of product. This comes in four shades including A List, Hot Gossip, Red Carpet and Angel Face.
Packaging ASDA Tamer Brow Cream - The brow cream comes in a convenient and compact pot complete with mini brush. I love the rose gold packaging too. This also looks very similar to the MUA Power Brow which I've also reviewed here.
ASDA Highlight Palette - As I mentioned above you get four decent sized highlighters and the palette also comes with an informative how-to guide on where to put each shade. This also reminds me very much of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit in Sugar Glow*.
ASDA Matte Lip - Again this comes beautifully packaged and inside you'll find a medium-sized doe foot applicator. This also has a distinct vanilla scent.
Application ASDA Tamer Brow Cream - I used the brush included to apply the brow tamer and I have to say I loved how easily this glided on, it was also super pigmented and the Medium was a great colour match for me personally.
ASDA Highlight Palette - These apply beautifully and they are all super pigmented. Upon application, I used Glow on the tops of the cheeks and this certainly packed a punch!
ASDA Matte Lip - Upon application, this glided on well, although I did think initially that the colour looked prettier on camera compared to in the flesh. I just thought the colour looked very pale and chalky, however, this did dry down well.
Longevity
All three products lasted pretty well, a good 9 hours to be precise. However, I did get a bit of wear at the tops of my brows towards the end of the night and my highlight had faded ever so slightly also. The matte lip lasted pretty well, but by the end of the day the colour had faded in the middle of my lips and it did start to feel a little dry and uncomfortable.
Overall Thoughts ASDA Tamer Brow Cream - This was a great value for money, pigmented and long-wearing brow pomade, however comparing this to the MUA Power Brow I have to be honest and say that the MUA one is slightly better value for money, with a better colour selection and this has, even more, staying power overall. Both are great drugstore options but the MUA one just has that edge.
I award the ASDA Tamer Brow a 4 out of 5
ASDA Highlight Palette - The highlighting palette was definitely my favourite out of the three and the colour selection, pigmentation and handy how-to guide made this palette far more superior considering this is only £6 and the fact it's from a supermarket makeup brand. The only thing I would say is that having tried various drugstore highlighters over the years I have to say the Makeup Revolution highlighting palettes are that extra bit value for money considering how many shades you get within one palette. But if you are looking for a great Anastasia Beverley Hills Glow Kit dupe for Sugar Glow, then this Asda version is a wonderful option.
I award the ASDA Highlighting Palette a 4.5 out of 5
ASDA Matte Lip - Again the Matte Lips are fantastic value for money for how much product you get and although there are only four shades available all the colours are very wearable in their own right. A List, the shade I picked up did grow on me and this is actually a really pretty everyday shade is you love a matte lip. Overall I think by now we know what to expect from a matte lip that these can be drying, but honestly, this is a very good option if you're after something a little more affordable.
The Rimmel London Stay Matte Liquid Lipsticks are the newest launch to hit the shelves here in the UK. With an impressive 15 shades these certainly are a stand out collection, so here are my thoughts...
Price
These retail for £5.99 each for 5.5ml of product. The collection is available from Superdrug, Boots, Feel Unique and Ulta in the US.
Here are the 15 shades that make up the Stay Matte Liquid Lipstick Collection, Latte to Go - NUDE Be My Baby - NUDE Moca - NUDE Coral Sass - CORAL Pink Blink - NUDE PINK Pink Bliss - PINK Blush - PINK Rose & Shine - PINK/RED Heartbeat - PINK Fire Starter - RED Plum This Show - DEEP RED Midnight - DEEP RED Blue Iris - BLUE Shadow - GREY Pitch Black - BLACK
Packaging
The packaging is compact and the perfect size to pop in your bag when you're on the go and I also love the fact that you can see the colours clearly through the tube. Inside you'll find a lovely long and thin doe foot applicator.
Application
These have a lovely lightweight, mousse-like texture which is very similar to the Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquids. I tested out 8 shades and found them to be incredibly rich and pigmented. The only one I thought needed a deeper lip liner underneath was Latte To Go as this is an extremely pale nude.
Longevity
I have to say I was very impressed with how long these did last as they do claim to last up to 12 hours. However, while they are very long-wearing I wouldn't say they last a good 12 hours... I found them to fade down towards the late afternoon, which is when re-application would be needed, but overall they were pretty good going!
The other thing worth noting is because these are matte, they are a little drying too, but I think this comes with the matte lip territory.
One tip I would give you is, when you go to take these off, it would be wise to use a micellar water or something oil based as once these are on, they are on!

Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lip Blush
Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lip Pink Bliss
Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lip Heartbeat
Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lip First Starter
Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lip Shadow
Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lip Pitch Black
Overall Thoughts
Overall the Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lipsticks are not only a great price point but they are one of the best matte liquid lipstick formulas to be released within the drugstore over the past year.
Admittedly these are a little drying, but weighing up the fact that they are super pigmented, vibrant, easy to apply and super long-wearing makes them a true winner in my eyes. Which is your favourite shade from the collection?
I award the Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lipsticks a 4.8 out of 5
