Bourjois Metallic Lip Creams Review and Photo's

Bourjois Metallic Lip Gloss
With the phenomena of the Liquid Lipstick over the past couple of years, this popular lip choice has taken on a whole new meaning this year with the introduction of the metallic liquid lip. Bourjois is the latest brand to release their own collection of 8 party-ready shades that are the perfect addition to any festive partygoers makeup look! So here are my thoughts...
Price
The Bourjois Metallic Lip Creams retail for £7.99 for 3.6ml of product. As I mentioned above there are 8 colours to choose from including,
1. Supernova (300) - A Light Champagne Bronze.
2. Guilded Rose (100) - A Deep Rose/Bronze.
3. Molten Mauve (200) - A Duochrome light Rose/Brown.
4. Red Carpet (600) - A Vivid Wine Red.
5. Neon Nights (500) - A Vivid Fuschia Pink.
6. Pink Fizz (400) - A Light Petal Pink.
7. Liquid Steel (700) - Another Stunning Duochrome Lilac/Grey.
8. Midnight Metal (800) - A Deep Grey/Blue.
The full collection of swatches can be found on the Superdrug website here.
Packaging
When it comes to coloured lip products I prefer simple packaging just like these Bourjois Lip Creams, as it lets you see each colour much more clearly. Inside you'll find a decently sized doe foot applicator that is slightly slanted for ease of use.
Application
These Lip Creams are very much like a lip gloss formula in the sense they have a lovely thick consistency and feel super smooth and comfortable on the lips. They also glide on effortlessly to reveal a richly pigmented metallic gloss, however, they do transfer easily.

I have to admit I'm not the biggest fan of a metallic lip but I do like the fact these are versatile as they can be worn alone or as a lip topper to transform a regular cream or matte lipstick. I also recommend if you're wearing these alone to apply a thin layer first, then blot with a tissue before going in with a second thin layer.
Bourjois 500 Neon Nights
Bourjois 100 Guilded Rose
Bourjois 300 Supernova
Longevity
These last a good few hours, but I would recommend popping them in your bag for on the go touch-ups.
Overall Thoughts
I have to say the metallic lip trend hasn't been my personal cup of tea, but I do quite like the Bourjois Metallic Lip Creams because of their unique colour selection and lip gloss like the texture, as well as the fact these are comfortable, versatile, non-sticky and highly pigmented on the lips.

Price wise they are a little more expensive for the amount you get in the tube compared to some other drugstore metallic lip products but if you've grown fond of the metallic lip trend then as I mentioned above these are a great addition to any festive party look. So if you're after something a little different to spice up your lips or you're a fan of a metallic lip or lip topper in general, then these may be worth a look at if not for the beautiful colour selection alone.

I award the Bourjois Metallic Lip Creams a 4.3 out of 5

Bourjois Rouge Velvet The Lipstick Swatches and Review

Bourjois Rouge Velvet Lipstick
French drugstore brand Bourjois have just dropped possibly their most exciting lip launch to date in the form of the Rouge Velvet The Lipstick*. This mouth-watering collection consists of 12 matte lipsticks that claim to be intense and long-wearing, so here are my thoughts...
Price
These retail for £8.99 for 2.4g of product. As I mentioned above there are 12 shades to choose from including...
01 Hey Nude!
02 Flaming'rose
03 Hyppink chic
04 Hip Hip Pink
05 Brique-à-brac
06 Abrico'dabra!
07 Joli carmin'ois
08 Rubi's cute
09 Fuchsia botté
10 Magni-fig
11 Berry formidable
12 Brunette
Packaging
I adore the packaging for these as it's vibrant, eye-catching and sleek.
Inside, the actual lipstick has this unique almost tear drop shaped bullet, which is designed for a more easier application.
Application
Upon application, these glided on like a dream! First of all the unique shaped bullet made them so easy to apply and secondly, these were so richly pigmented that one swipe is all you really need.

The lipstick does dry down pretty quickly to a velvety matte consistency, which doesn't look drying at all.
Longevity
I found these so comfortable to wear and not drying at all. I tested out Hyppink Chic and Brunette for longevity and both stayed on the lips for a good 8 hours. I did get the tiniest bit of transfer but nothing major considering how pigmented these are. For the brighter colours, I would advise popping them in your bag as the colour can fade slightly through wear and tear.

Overall Thoughts
Having never tried much from Bourjois lip range before, I was suitably impressed by not only the quality of these lipsticks but the pigmentation, colour selection and wearability. Yes, they are a tad more expensive than your regular drugstore lipstick, but hey I think the price is completely justified because of the many qualities these lipsticks house.

The shape of the lipstick bullet is rather unique but perfectly formed to aid in the ease of application and the overall feel of these lipstick considering the formula is matte is so comfortable to wear for long periods of time. I also love the fact that all 12 of the colours are totally wearable and suited to anyone and everyone.

So if you're after a more premium drugstore, semi-matte lipstick that's long-wearing, pigmented and enjoyable to wear, then I would for sure recommend checking this collection out.

I award the Bourjois Rouge Velvet The Lipstick a 4.9 out of 5

Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer Review and Photos

Bourjois Chocolate Bronzing Powder
Bronzing powder has been part of my make-up routine ever since I can remember and over the past few years I have been using the same Sienna X Bronzer, as it's matte and not too orange. I recently finished this Sienna X one and thought it was finally time for a change. I had heard a lot of things about the popular Bourjois Chocolate Bronzing Powder, so I thought I would give it a try, here's my thoughts.

Have you tried this Bronzing Powder, do you rate it or hate it, I'd love to know your thoughts? Leave a comment down below or tweet me.
Price
This retails for £7.99 for 16.5g of product and comes in two shades, 51 Medium and 52 Tanned. Although this is at the pricier end of the scale for a drugstore bronzer, you do get a good amount of product.
Packaging
The packaging is eye-catching mainly because of the novelty chocolate aspect and powder itself is shaped like a chocolate bar which  has a subtle, pleasant chocolate smell too.

Application
I picked this up in shade 51 Medium as this seemed the lightest of the two. Initially I thought this bronzer was matte, as they do look matte in the packaging, but this does have a slight sparkle to it. Upon application there was quite a bit of fallout and it wasn't the greatest to blend either, I did end up having to blend this out with some of my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. The overall finish was patchy and orange looking, almost like I had serious sunburn on my face!

Longevity
I had this on for a total of 11 hours and although the colour did stay for a majority of the day it did fade towards the end of the night.

Overall Thoughts
Even though I had heard good things about this bronzer and of course the packaging and chocolate aspect is eye-catching, for me this was a total fail. The consistency is lovely and silky, but the application was awful, as the bronzer was hard to blend and left me with more of an orange patchy look. It's a shame this bronzer only comes in two, quite dark shades, as it would be great if they also catered for paler complexions who are after a more subtle glow.

I award the Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer 2 out of 5
