Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette |
I already own the Urban Decay Naked 1 & 2 and recently did a post on my much loved shades from each if you want to go and check them out. Urban Decay have since gone on to launch Naked Number 3 and the Smokey Edition too! I had been longing for the Number 3 palette for a long while now and decided to bite the bullet and snap it up for my Wedding, so here's my thoughts.
Price
This retails for £38 here in the UK, which sounds expensive at first but you do get 12 stunning shadows, a double ended brush, four primer potion samples and a lovely big mirror.
Packaging
The packaging is gorgeous on this Naked 3 Palette and is probably my favourite of the three. This comes boxed with a detailed description of what's included in the box, along with pictures of each shadow colour and name. The compact itself is adorned in rose gold and includes a double ended brush and lovely large mirror which I always use to do my make-up. I love the fact this comes in a sturdy case, just like the Naked 2 as it's more hard-wearing and helps protects the shadows better when there not being used.
Application
The palette consists of 12 beautifully pigmented shadows including, four matte, one matte with glitter and seven shimmery shades.
1. Strange (Matte) - A nude pink
2. Dust (Chunky Shimmer) - A shell pink
3. Burnout (Velvet Shimmer) - A rose pink
4. Limit (Matte) - A dusky pink
5. Buzz (Velvet Shimmer) - A deep rose pink
6. Trick (Metallic Shimmer) - A bronze gold
7. Nooner (Matte) - A purple taupe
8. Liar (Metallic Shimmer) - A soft pink brown
9. Factory (Velvet Shimmer) - A deep milk chocolate
10. Mugshot (Metallic Shimmer) - A chestnut brown
11. Darkside (Matte) - A deep chocolate brown
12. Blackheart (Matte with Fine Glitter) - A black shot with red glitter)
My favourite shades from the palette include Limit, Buzz, Nooner, Liar, Factory and Mugshot and my least favourite is Dust as it unfortunately has a ton of a fallout because of the chunky shimmer formula.
Longevity
For this eye look I didn't use a primer or coloured eye base and decided to keep it simple by using Limit in the crease and Buzz, foiled on the lid. I wore these for a total of just over 13 hours and for most of the day they stayed put, I just had a little fading in the crease by the end of the night and so a primer or coloured eye base would help them stay that little longer and intensify the shadows more.
Overall Thoughts
Overall I loved this palette and this is defiantly my favourite out of the three as most of the colours are wearable for everyday as well as evening. The shadows are beautifully pigmented and blend like a dream, just make sure you apply a primer or eye base beforehand to help make them pop and stay that little bit longer.
This is a pricey eye shadow palette, but if you weigh up what's included along with the quality of these shadows, overall this is great value for money. So if your after a good quality palette that is wearable for both day and night and your a fan of the pink and brown toned neutrals, then this could be for you!
I award the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette 4.9 out of 5
