Nail of the Day - Models Own Indian Ocean and Barry M Blueberry

Barry M Blueberry & Models Own Indian Ocean
Blue nails have defiantly become more wearable and with so many different shades and options the possibilities are endless! I've had Models Own Indian Ocean in my collection for a few years now but I haven't used this in ages until I recently re-discovered it. Models Own Indian Ocean is the most stunning duochrome blue polish, shot with light pink. You can wear this colour on it's own but I personally like using this as a top coat over various colours, as it can change up any regular crème shades and transform them into the most beautiful shades.

My favourite combination is complimenting Indian Ocean with Barry M Blueberry underneath, it just looks so pretty, feminine and Summery! Also I recommend teaming is with Essie Mint Candy Apple too.

Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Longwear Nail Enamel Review and Photos

Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Longwear Nail Enamel
Following on from my review of the Barry M Sunset polish, I wanted to try a few more of these gel like nail polishes to decide whether these are actually worth the hype. Next up, the Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Longwear Nail Enamel and Diamond Top Coat. This version claims to deliver longevity and a gel finish, so here's my thoughts.
Price
Both the colour and top coat retail for £6.99 each for 11.7ml, which is a little bit more expensive than your regular drugstore nail polish. The collection consists of 30 stunning, wearable shades, as well as the diamond top coat.

Packaging
The packaging is the same as the rest of the colourstay family. I do like this packaging as it looks sleek and sophisticated, I also like the handle as it's long and lean, so it's easy to grip. The brush consists of two small brushes put together to create one long, thin brush for easy application.
Application
I decided on the colour 440 Wild Card, which was the most stunning bright cobalt blue. The colour is supposed to also act as the base coat as well. This was easy to apply and was opaque in two coats, but if you where in a rush you could get away with one. The only thing I didn't like was the overpowering, toxic smell, of course nail polish isn't the nicest smelling, but this was pretty overwhelming. The top coat went on lovely and shiny, but this really didn't dry all that quickly and I ended up with in-prints on my nails from my bed sheets, as I usually paint my nail right before bedtime.

Longevity
I had this on from Wednesday to Sunday, so five days in total. I only really got three good days of wear, before I started to get chipping on the tips and because of the top coat not drying well, it really didn't help in keeping my manicure long-wearing and nice looking.

Overall Thoughts
Overall this for me doesn't come near to the longevity and durability of a salon gel manicure. The colour I choose is stunning and the shade selection overall is great, but the strong smell, longevity and poor top coat let this system down overall. With so many exceptional fast drying, high gloss top coats on the market this gel envy version really doesn't compare. I would use this colour again in the future, but I defiantly would use a base coat and also my good old Seche Vite Dry Fast Top coat instead, to hopefully provide a more long-wearing manicure.

I award the Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Longwear Nail Enamel 2.7 out of 5

Nail of the Day - Barry M Blueberry

Barry M Blueberry
Recently I have been in full force Wedding mode, as I have a friends Wedding coming up this week and my own in a few months. They say that every bride needs 'something blue' on their Wedding day and Barry M Blueberry is the perfect bridal blue for this occasion. I love this colour as it is more of a cornflower blue, which makes it ever so flattering on the nails. These Gelly formula's from Barry M are also opaque in two coats and have the most perfect high gloss finish to them for colour that's lasts all day.

If you are getting married this Summer and opting for a more neutral nail, then Essie's Bridal Collection for 2015 is full of pretty pastels and a couple of stunning brights, perfect for any Bride to be.
Other Blue options you could try too are O.P.I You're Such A Budapest, Essie Bikini So Teeny and Models Own Cornflower Gleam.

Blue Nail Polish Obsession Swatches & Dupes

My most worn nail colour hands down is pink, but I have this slight obsession with blue nail polish, I just think it looks really polished on the nail and I feel important when I wear this colour!

You can get so many different types and finishes these days and I think blue is more of an acceptable colour to wear now, as it has become as classic as red.

I thought I would share with you some of my favourite blue polishes.
