Mint is a bit of an obsession of mine, as you probably know from my mint nail polish obsession post and just recently I have been loving two particular mint shades, Models Own Mint Icing and Morgan Taylor Party at the Palace. As I love them both so much, I thought I would pair them together to create a pretty summer, mint nail combination. I used Models Own Mint Icing as the base and Morgan Taylor Party at the Palace in top. Mint Icing is the most beautiful, bright shade of mint and Party at the Palace is like a stunning iridescent, mermaid colour!

Back in the day I was always a pink nail polish kind of girl, whether it was fuchsia, pastel, glitter, shimmer or neon, I wore it! As my love for nail polish has grown, so has my collection of colours, nowadays there is so much more choice and you can just about get away with any shade of colour or finish on your nails.

I started my mint green obsession a few years ago and it really snowballed from there, my first ever mint green polish was Essie Mint Candy Apple, but it actually took me a few years to pluck up the courage to wear such a daring shade. Fast forward to the present and I've become a serious magpie when it comes to anything mint green! Of course there is many variations of this colour, so I thought I'd share with you my ever growing collection of shades, in the hope it will help you out when knowing what type of mint shade to go for.

Nail of the Day - Mint Ombre featuring Essie Mint Candy Apple and Carnival

The DIY Ombre trend is one of this seasons biggest looks, whether you choose to ombre your hair, nails, clothes or accessories, you can't get away from the ombre effect! I decided to try my hand at ombre nails this week with my favourite colours of the moment Mint and Jade. I used two coats of O.P.I Alpine Snow as my base then I sponged on Essie's Mint Candy Apple and blended this with O.P.I Fly, the look was finished off with Essie's Carnival to give the ombre some sparkle!
