NYX Eyebrow Gel Review and Photos

NYX Eyebrow Gel in Brunette
If you've seen my reviews on eyebrow products, you'll know I love trying different types of brow make-up. I recently came across this gel formula in a tube from NYX, which I had never seen before, so of course, I had to put it to the test, so here are my thoughts.
Price
This retails for £5.50 for 10ml of product, which is amazing value for money for such a unique gel that's unlike any other on the drugstore market. The NYX Eyebrow Gel also comes in 5 shades including Blonde, Brunette, Chocolate, Espresso and Black, I picked this up in Brunette.
Packaging
This comes in a squeezy tube and also boxed, with clear instructions, tips and what the product is. Each shade represents the colour of the tube, so it's easy to see which shade is right for you, just from the box.
Application
To apply, you will need a brush and also a pot or something to disperse the product onto, which is a bit of a pain, but I actually used the lid of my Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow to squeeze some onto. The tube itself is also quite hard to get the product out of, I think because the consistency of the gel is so thick, so I do think this would be better maybe in a pot form instead, for easier access to the product.

Upon application a little goes a long way, so defiantly use this product sparingly as it is mega pigmented. I used a tiny eyeliner brush to apply this, along with a spoolie to brush it out. Overall my brows looked non-sparse, groomed and well-defined.
Longevity
This gel had the most amazing longevity, as not only did the colour not budge, it also practically felt like it had glued my long brows hairs down firmly in place all day long! The only con to this, was it was super hard to get off at the end of the day, so I would recommend using an oily make-up remover to break down the product.
Overall Thoughts
This for me was a wonder product as not only did it fill in my brows exceptionally well, it defined and groomed them into place for a remarkably long time! The price is phenomenal giving how much product you get and the colour selection is lovely and I also read you can mix the shades to customise your own shade if you like too. The only con like I mentioned is the tube as you really have to squeeze hard to get the product out because of the consistency and also just make sure you have an oily make-up remover to hand too! But overall this is another unique product from NYX that sets them ahead of the game within the drugstore market because of their affordability factor and amazing product variety.

I award the NYX Eyebrow Gel 4.8 out of 5

The Top 5 NYX Products Worth Buying!

NYX Cosmetics
NYX is a brand I first discovered years ago through watching the early beauty youtubers, but unfortunately it wasn't as easy to get hold of here in the UK. Finally years later NYX Cosmetics is now available in Boots and Boots online which is great to hear, so I thought I'd share with you my Top 5 favourite products worth buying.
NYX Matte Bronzer
I've been fond of this bronzer for years now as it's matte, non-orange, buildable and it blends out well too. I also featured this in my Top 10 Drugstore Bronzers Worth Buying as it's a great affordable option that has the perfect consistency and plus it comes with a mirror too.
NYX Matte Bronzer in Medium
NYX Wonder Stick
2. NYX Wonder Stick £10
The Wonder Stick is a great product if you're a beginner to highlighting and contouring. This easy to use stick comes in four shades and a step by step guide on how to use. I love this as it's convenient, quick and has a great consistency that altogether help you achieve the perfect contour and highlight just like a pro.
NYX Eyebrow Gel
3. NYX Eyebrow Gel £5.50
I've tried a fair few brow products from NYX, but I have to say the one product that impressed me the most was their Eyebrow Gel. This is very similar to a brow pomade except it comes in a tube. All you do is squeeze a little onto a lid and dip in your brush. I love this as it's great for filling in gaps, defining the brow and the best thing is it's super long-wearing. The gel comes in five shades which you can also mix to create a custom brow shade.

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils
4. NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils £5
The NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils have been a staple in my make-up collection ever since I can remember. These vivid sticks of colour can be used as an eyeshadow, liner or as a coloured eyeshadow base to help a powder shadow pop. I use these on a weekly basis mostly as a coloured eyeshadow base as they are creaseless, long-wearing and come in so many fun shades. Four of my staples are Sparkle Nude, French Fries, Milk and Black Bean.
NYX Butter Lipstick
This last product I found hard to choose as for me NYX are the best when it comes to drugstore lip products as they have so many different colours finishes and types of lip products to choose from. I did finally narrow it down to two, as I know not everyone likes the same finish of lipstick.

5. NYX Butter Lipstick £5.50
First up is the NYX Butter Lipstick, if you prefer a lip product with a slight sheen. These are super creamy and glide on like a dream and for £5.50 you can't go wrong! Pops is my favourite shade as it's a really wearable nude/brown, but there is defiantly a colour for everyone with 26 shades to choose from.

NYX Matte Lipstick
NYX Matte Lipsticks £6.50
As I mentioned above I wanted to share with you a sneaky sixth lipstick for anyone who prefers a matte finish. The NYX Matte Lipsticks have phenomenal colour pay off and come in a whopping 45 shades to choose from. My favourite is Whipped Caviar which is very similar to MAC Twig. This again is such a wearable shade, that's non drying and is pretty impressive for the price.

NYX Liquid Suede Soft Spoken - Kat Von D Lolita Dupe

NYX Soft Spoken
Following on from my review on the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Abu Dhabi, I did mentioned I would have another post on the Liquid Suede's, which are another one of NYX's iconic lip products. Now I know these have been out for a while now, but finally we are lucky enough to be able to access these beauties more easily here in the UK thanks to NYX finally taking the step to stock in most Boots stores nationwide.

I only picked up one shade to try in Soft Spoken before I made the decision on whether these do live up to their name, so here's my thoughts.
These retail for £6.50 and come in 12 fun and playful colours and as I mentioned above I picked up the shade Soft Spoken which is a great dupe for Kat Von D's Lolita. But if you haven't seen either of these, then this shade is a richly pigmented medium brown/nude for reference.
The packaging is relatively plain, with the shade of the lipstick doing all the talking. The wand has a fantastic long, flat doe foot applicator for ease of application. Upon application this lipstick glides on effortlessly in just one coat and has a beautiful semi matte finish.
This does transfer slightly but don't worry as this has the most impressive staying power! I wore this all day and I couldn't believe how well this stayed even whilst eating and drinking throughout the day!

Overall these are a fantastic liquid lipstick if your into bold lips and super staying power! The colour selection could be a little better for the UK compared to the 25 shades available in the US, but nevertheless these are affordable, accessible and amazing quality for a drugstore lip product.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Abu Dhabi Review & Photos

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Abu Dhabi
I have to say NYX do the best selection of lip products within the drugstore and I've reviewed a fair few favourites so far. This week I have two NYX lip reviews for you guys, starting of with the Soft Matte Lip Cream, so here's my thoughts.
Price
Not only do these retail for an affordable £5.50, they come in an amazing 34 shades to choose from!
Packaging
Although the packaging is simple, the colours do all the talking because of the stunning shade selection available. The wand itself has a lovely sized doe foot applicator, that helps apply the lip cream with ease.
Application
This shade applied beautifully on the lips thanks to it's creamy, smooth texture. Now hese do have a quite a strong vanilla scent to them which I love, but I realise this is not to everyone's taste, so I would recommend smelling the tester before you buy if your sensitive to smells.
Longevity
Because of the matte formula, these are a tiny bit drying on the lips, so be sure to apply a moisturising lip balm when you start your make-up, so by the time you come to apply the lip cream, your lips will be well moisturised in advance.

The colour lasted well up until the early afternoon, but I did have to re-apply after lunch, so make sure you have it to hand for on the go touch ups. This shade had the tiniest bit of transfer which was good, but I can't personally speak for how this would be with the darker and brighter shades within the collection.
Overall Thoughts
Overall I loved this shade as it's such a pretty, wearable everyday colour to pop in your handbag. With regards to the collection as a whole, I think the price and colour selection is exceptional and these are a great product if you love the idea of a matte lipstick, but your prefer something a little softer and creamier. As I mentioned above I think NYX really can't do no wrong within the drugstore lip market, I just think their on trend collection, shade selection and affordability cannot be beaten.

My Everyday Makeup Routine - No Foundation Required!

Everyday Makeup Routine
When it comes to make-up, I think you've gathered by now I'm a total make-up junkie of course! The weekends are usually for me when I have the most time to play around with make-up to create new looks and test out products. But for the week days, I tend to stick to a minimal routine which involves no foundation, as I like to let me skin breath. My everyday makeup mainly consists of a neutral brown eye, a bit of bronzer, blush and a lip balm, the only thing I always do fully everyday is my brows (you got to have those brows on fleek!) So today I wanted to share with you my everyday make-up routine to show you that you don't always need a foundation to look your best, it's just about a good skincare routine and a kick ass concealer!

What's your go to makeup staple you can't live without everyday?

NYX Butter Lipstick Review and Photos

NYX Butter Lipsticks in Snow Cap and Pops
Following on from the success of the Butter Glosses, comes NYX's newest butter release, the Butter Lipstick. I'm already a big fan of the glosses because of their creamy texture, affordability and great colour selection, so here's my thoughts on the latest offering to the butter family.
Price
These retail for £5.50 for 4.5g of lipstick, which is great value for money. The line also comes in over 30 colours to choose from, which is amazing for a drugstore brand. NYX is also now available online at feelunique.com, Boots.com, ASOS, Very and in store at Selfridges.
Packaging
The packaging is pretty, yet simple and each lipstick is colour co-ordinated to the relevant lipstick shade.
Application
These glide on so smoothly and have the most gorgeous buttery texture, just like the name suggests. I picked up Snow Cap and Pops and both shades were beautifully pigmented, vibrant and had a lovely glossy finish to them.
Longevity
Because of their smooth, glide-on texture, these unfortunately didn't stay on as long as I hoped. So I would recommend priming the lips with a lip liner and blotting with powder and a tissue in between layers, to get the best out of these lipstick's.
Overall Thoughts
Overall these lipstick version's of the butter glosses are amazing, as not only are they affordable, they come in the best on trend colour selection and they glide-on so smoothly for a drugstore lipstick.

Yes it is a shame that the longevity factor is not so great, but don't let this put you off the exceptional quality of these lipsticks for the price, as it is unusual to find such a great formulated lipstick with a wide variety of wearable shades, available on the high street market.

I award the NYX Butter Lipstick 4.7 out of 5
